One of my neighbours has a cleaning company which cleans carpets. I am thinking of using him to do mine this year.
Am going to have him clean the gutters at the front and the flat roof section over the bay window. he his always busy.

Has a lovely daughter who is now eleven. When she was yonger she used to ride her little bike past our house.

Oh my giddy aunt - hopefully not counting my chickens before they hatch, but I have just managed to nab a Vax Ultra rapid for totally FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! Someone on NextDoor (site) is giving it away; apparently it doesn't have the attachments needed for stairs or soft furniture, but as I have neither at home I'm not fussed.

I am so over the moon!!!!!!!!!!!

You lucky, lucky devil. They were well over £200 when brand new, but FREE!!!!!!!!!!!!! is always the best price.

However, make sure at least the motor works before taking it away.

Another thing: Astonish do a perfectly adequate and pet friendly carpet machine shampoo.

thanks Frank! And given it's a freebie, I'm just going to take it as is and if it doesn't work then the local tip is 10 mins down the road from me.

well, that's the carpet cleaner collected - and what a lovely couple they were. They said the unit works but gave it away just because the stair attachment has broken and they need that bit; so they got a new one (and by the looks of their house - they're not short a bob or two so could well afford it  ) So I traded fresh eggs from my chickens, rhubarb from the allotment and in turn got a carpet cleaner and a fuss with their 6 month old lab puppy - win win
