Both my parents rode bikes most of their lives. I find that most people who are against bikes also are scared to ride them. Yet most of those will ride a bicycle.

Now here's a fun statistic.

In 2012 125 motorcyclists were killed on the roads.
In 2012 122 cyclists were killed on the roads.

So what's safe then?????

I have a thing against motorbikes since my 18yr old cousin was killed on one - a lorry ploughed through a red light straight into him. I accept that statisitically mine is an irrational fear but I really don't like them, and poor Mick had to get rid of his scrambler when we got together. I don't know how I'd feel if one of my kids wanted one, luckily so far that hasn't been an issue

Glad you enjoyed yourself Ally, on Corfu we saw people zooming about without helmets or leathers, zipping in and out of traffic with passengers clinging on!
