Evening all, we are home and settled in the warmth. Today went as well as these things do. We just about made it to the church for 10am even though we left in plenty of time, although others were the same. The mass and cremation were as you would expect, it was beyond bitterly cold outside the church and not much better inside. We were very touched when one of our dance friends attended the mass and gave us a card from our Thursday dance group.

After the crematorium there was a lunch laid on, which turned into a lovely occasion. Miss Osc sat at a table with her girl cousins, she doesn’t often get to see them, so she had a good catch up with them. We sat with other family and had plenty of chat. I was sitting beside one of Edward’s nephews who lives in London and it was good to catch up with him, he is a town planner and was very interested in the work we did on our house, he remembers it when it was a shop with his grandparents living upstairs. Miss Osc did all the driving which made the day so much easier and stress free. Early to bed tonight, we are both pretty tired.
