Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 11 Jan 2024, 08:27

Morning everyone

Sun and cloud this morning, feeling quite warm ish too 8-)

Washing machine doing it's stuff and I'll be the cleaning lady this morning. Grumpy will be the gardener :D

I have tried, many times, to grow garlic and always failed. Sergio gave me yesterday some bulbs he has grown, so they will go into pots later. This afternoon, I'll be the gardener and will be cutting back the yucca's. Hopefully, Grumpy will be able to strim, as one side of the garden is in dire need 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning everybody.

It was 12C when I got up and went for the paper. Some blue sky but there are grey clouds. Everywhere is dry just cold.

Janb, there is an article in the DM about the new names for jobs. A "gardener" is now a horticulturist. Ther are many others. It also says there are
more "admin " staff in the NHS than nurses and doctors.

Am going to have a new zip put on a cardigan, then to the bank as one of my investments is due to mature and I want to move the money to
another high interest account.
Then taking some books to a shop which re-cycles them. I can get three books for £1.00. They re good such as Peter James and Ian Rankin.

Will call and have a cup of tea before coming home.

Have a good day everybody.

Good morning Jan and Cruiser and everyone

Jan, good luck with all the bits and bobs you're trying to do. I'm behind with getting my garlic into the ground so am aiming to do it this weekend.
Cruiser, hope you too get everything sorted you're hoping to.

Late work start for me today - only catching a train at 10am; so logging on at home first for a bit before heading in. Roads are clearer, trains are emptier (and cheaper), so all in all a more pleasant journey in. Nippy out there today - minus 2 at the moment; brrrrr.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s very grey and dreary here. Usual Thursday ahead, dance practice this morning and Kellie here this afternoon. I never got to the ironing yesterday but did do everything else on my list including getting my nails done - more important than the ironing :P We are waiting for funeral details for Edward’s brother, possibly tomorrow, Saturday or Monday, hopefully we will hear more today. Right, need to tidy around before we go out.

Good morning.
Another dull damp day here. So much for the dry week we were promised.
This afternoon Mr Bunting is coming to plumb in our new washing machine (a Beko), the old one having handed it's cards in when it blew up last Tuesday.
He is only charging us £35 to unplumb the old machine, take it away and plumb in the new machine. This is a lot cheaper than Curry's charge. Curry's want the old machine gone before they plumb in the new one for you.
Kaz mentioned independent shops the other day and Buntings are a good one. We would have bought the washing machine from them but they haven't been able to get any in for almost a year.
Other than that, not much is doing here.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bright sunshine and very cold brrr

I usually buy white goods from AO or John Lewis Crommer. Depends which one is offering the best deal, both take the old machine away and install the new one. I avoid Curry's, we've had problems with them in the past. I'm a Bosch fan, but have heard Beko get good reviews.

Ed's doing the bed change today, much easier for him to spread the washing out a bit. Sadly even when I'm back on my feet, I doubt I'll be able to help with any heavy lifting and our mattress weighs a ton!! Nothing planned for today, at least I don't feel I'm missing anything not going out in this weather. Hoping to lose this horrid boot when I see the surgeon this coming Monday, fingers tightly crossed.

Hope you all have a good day, stay warm xx

Good luck for Monday Jen... but in the meantime; have you ever considered getting someone to come in and help with the heavier things ? ((hugs))

Afternoon everyone :)

Another dry day here :) I've been shopping with D, and got some washing on - taking advantage of the solar panels 8-) Back to Pilates tonight after the Xmas/New Year break - it will be very cold turning out for that! :cute:

Osc, I know I have said this before but the Irish really have it right, organising funerals - the three week wait here is interminable :? xx

Crommers we had a really good local shop for white goods very close by, but it closed and was demolished to make way for a block of private apartments  Like Jen we use AO now.

Love to all xxx
