Edward’s older sister rang earlier to say that their younger brother has had a fall, had emergency brain surgery during the night and the outlook is not good. No more details, his wife is the sort of person who would give the family minimal detail. At the moment, Edward does not feel the need to see him, although he will visit if their younger sister wants to do so, so he can support her (Michael and she are twins). This is the brother who fell some years ago and was in an induced coma for some time. We saw him at the wedding a few weeks ago, he seemed ok if a bit odd.
