Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 06 Dec 2023, 06:42

Good morning.

We had a smattering, ie 50 drops of rain late last night. :o

It's a holiday here today so after my walk we'll get ready to go out and have a long leisurely lunch.

Have a great day.

Good morning you three and everyone :)

Ally, 50 drops really isn't much - and you really could do with some decent rain. Enjoy the holiday day today - will there be parades in town for this as well (assume it's St Nicholas equivalent?)
Jan, what about finding a new hobby - you've got the space. I want to learn macrame (again), I did it absolute years ago so would be fun to try again
Cruiser, good luck with the decorations; I'm going to get some of mine sorted tomorrow.

A nippy morning this morning - same as cruiser, had to scrape ice off the car this morning before leaving for the station. As I left the house a police van turned up and knocked on the door of the people living opposite me; their son has been in trouble with them before; I just hope that he hasn't done the same thing again - because this time he will be arrested.

Office day for me again, but leaving early because of the train strike - last train home will be 6pm and I don't want to risk any of the last ones being either cancelled or over crowded that you can't get on.

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all, it’s mostly cloudy here and damp but no rain at the moment and the temperature has risen. Today is Christmas Tree day in this house, Michael and Kellie will be here this afternoon to decorate our tree so I’m wearing a Christmas sweatshirt and Christmas tree earrings  We bought a new tree after Christmas last year and put it up yesterday, very pleased with it. We’ve put on the lights but M and K will decorate it as is tradition since Michael was little. Edward put up our other decs too. I made some buns and will ice them this morning. Final bits of packing for our two nights away too, so that just our toilet bags will need to be added in the morning. I need to pop out to get bread and a birthday card. Going to dance class tonight.

Morning all :)

Bright and sunny :D

Our morning ritual is taking a bit longer. Getting the boot on is fun, but this morning I managed to shuffle using the walking frame from the bedroom, detoured into the loo, and then on to the lounge. Feels like a major victory 8-) Of course Ed is closely supervising as instructed by physio, but my first aim is to be moving round the bungalow without help within the next couple of weeks. Onwards and upwards.

No plans for today, intend to be extremely lazy between shuffling sessions.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Well, we've seen bits of Ourique we've never seen before

Yet another solicitor's letter, which we had to pick up at the post office and as the roads around the post office are closed for road works and heaven knows what else, it was really difficult to find somewhere to park.

I left one copy of the letter with our solicitor and just about to translate the other, as it's looks like he's threatening us with fines of up to 5,000€ :o if we don't sort it out within 10 days.

As the letters are dated 29 November and we only got them today, time is short.

Heard a friend's house got broken into recently, they're flying back today. Bit scary.

Going down the bar this afternoon, think we need a couple of beers

Afternoon all, it’s a sunny day and very chilly.

Had an icy walk with Bill this morning, the paths on the common were frozen solid where the rain has run down them. Good thing I’d remembered my torch and could see where it was icy.

I’ve done a couple of loads of washing and had a tidy around. I’ve been doing some crochet too.

Off to Manchester with Joe when he gets home from work. I’ve dug out my Ugg boots because they’re so very warm and I’ll need them with being outside for a good couple of hours (and they’re proper Uggs and not cheap knock offs so aren’t saggy around the ankles  )

I had to order Bill some insulin last week. He had the required by law 6 monthly health check in September but the vet missed doing the blood test so we had to take him in for another full health check including bloods on Friday. The vet said she’d have the results by Thursday or Friday but called at 8.30 last night, I immediately thought the worst with her calling then but everything is as it should be. Liver and kidney function are good and all levels are as they should be.

Ria, do give macrame another go. It’s quite on trend at the moment isn’t it.

Have a good day all :D

Afternoon everyone :)

Have fun, Ally :) xx

Enjoy doing whatever you decided to do, Jan ;) xx

That sounds fun, Cruiser, enjoy nosing around :D xx

Oh hopefully not then, Ria  x,

Ah we're not doing our tree until next week Osc, but that sounds fun :D xx

Well done Jen, you're getting there :) xx

Hope you manage to keep warm at the match Jo, and good news about Bill :) xx

I've been out, met J for a cuppa, picked up a few bits from the M&S Foodhall, then walked up to D's. We've not long got home. I wrote out my Christmas cards on Sunday, but they need addressing and the stamps sticking on, so I've dug out my address book and am about to do that.

Love to all xxx

Kaz,

I have a Christmas card list with addresses on my computer.

I up date it each year before printing it. I then put a tick against each name when i have written the card. Very methodical and efficient.

Have still to push the ones throught the letter boxes which I will deliver lopcally.
