Actually France finds that over 65% of them are not from Syria, Iran, Afghanistan, Iraq. They are from more stable places like Pakistan. If these were true refugees from the countries you state, I would have a lot more sympathy.

But they are not. They are economic migrants sucked into a dangerous journey to get the gold at the end of the rainbow.

The more we take in the more people are sucked on the journey and the more are preyed on.

Nobody in the "bleeding for the migrants" camp even wants to hear that, let alone discuss it.

The UK is not France and "our" migrants are mainly "asylum seekers" from Syria, Iran, Iraq, Afghanistan and... Albania. We have a deal with Albania to send many of theirs back because they are economic migrants.

A few of our others, 24,000, we want to send to Rwanda - that's half of those who arrived in 2022 but only 13% of those (eligible) who came in the five years to the end of 2023 - and that, according to the Tories, is going to solve ALL our problems.

It will not, it is an expensive gimmick. A very expensive gimmick - an initial £140m to Rwanda and between £20k to £30k to each illegal to help them start a new life.
