Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 27 Oct 2023, 05:27

Good morning.

A sunny and pleasant 24° forecast. 8-)

Bit of a busy day ahead.

Going into Malaga first to meet Jacob for breakfast as he's back from Jaen.

I'll then go to Larios mall to Bershka as I fancy a pair of super high waisted jeans and I've seen some advertised in there.
I also need to go to the estanco to get baccy and ciggies for some friends in the UK.

Back home to check in Ryanair on my phone app and look out my little case.

Next is meeting the friend from yesterday again for another walk and practice her English.

Home to shower (again  ) and walk to our local church where there is a mass at 7.30 for José.

Our Friday beer and tapas lot will then go on to our usual place.

It's 35 years today Don and I met so cause for celebration.
Those years have flown by very happily! :cute:

Have a great day.

Hope Jen's doing ok. xx

Morning everyone

Rather grey morning although it doesn't feel too cold and no rain today :D :D

Glad you're on the mend on on your way home Jen xx

I'm tempted to go into Ourique this morning and raid the piggy bank, as we ordered wood for the winter yesterday and we have no idea when he'll deliver. Might pop into Aldi, get some more potatoes and a cabbage for tonight's stew.

Cleaning has to be done too, sometime.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s quite pleasant here although, surprise surprise, rain is forecast. I have my mobility class this morning and Edward is going to play golf. Tesco due between 12-2 today instead of later so I’ll have to hurry home from my class. We have visitors coming for the weekend, apart from family we’ve only ever had one other couple stay in almost nine years! The house has had a good clean and I’ll do their bathroom when I get home. They should be here between 2.30-3pm and I’ve booked a local restaurant for 3.15, then we will go dancing this evening. Tomorrow we’ll have a leisurely day and then going dancing again tomorrow evening.

Jen, I hope you get home today, the comfort of your own bed will be wonderful!

Good afternoon.
Same weather here Saundra, grey and mizzly. We can't get any washing dry.
That's really sweet Ally. Here's to many more years.
Jan, it's nice to know you are still allowed a wood burner. I do wonder how long we will be allowed to own one.
Jen, that did make me laugh! No digging tunnels for your escape though!
That sounds like a lovely couple of days Osc.

We have been to Home Bargains and Sainsbury's. The beggars have a bad day for their business today in the drizzle.
MrsC will shortly go and take her Uncle his shopping.
After that we might have to consider giving the heating a quick blast.
Have a good day everyone.

Hello all,
Sat on a train at Bristol waiting to go to Worcester.
Been sunny all the way from Portsmouth.
Actually have a seat with leg room.
Reckon some of these carriages must be designed by or for midgets.

Afternoon all, it’s dry at the moment.

Walked Bill first thing, Joe’s working from home today so I got the noisy job of hoovering done when we got back. The Tesco delivery has been and that’s all been put away.
Joe’s got a blood test at Stafford hospital at 4.30. Ideally he’d go to our GP surgery around the corner or Cannock hospital a mile and a half away but they now come under a different health trust and the last time we made that mistake we had to faff around getting the blood results ourselves from one trust and then passing them onto the other one, apparently it couldn’t be done by them.

I’m now waiting in vain for an Amazon delivery. I’ve ordered a spin dryer. I’d always been mystified by how my Mom dried washing so quickly and it came to me last week when I was putting some shopping away for my Dad in the under stairs cupboard and spotted the spin dryer! Anyway, it’s supposed to be delivered today, it was dispatched yesterday and left a warehouse near Leicester at Midnight but hasn’t yet been scanned as arriving at the delivery depot at Stoke, 40 or so miles away, so something’s not right and I’m not optimistic that it’ll arrive today.

I’m supposed to be taking some shopping to my Dad later and he wants his hair cutting too, he says he’s got another job for me as well as he’s got a lot of paper work that needs sorting. Bank letters and such, he says he’s been putting them on top of the wardrobe. I know all bills are paid because I sort them but he’s been worrying about tax to be paid on some investments, apparently he had a letter a few years ago saying that he may be liable for tax but he thinks my Mom shredded it. I’ve told him that if the taxman wanted money he’d have heard about it long before now but he says he’s having sleepless nights worrying about it.
Maybe I’ll find something about that but either way, I’ll get a proper filing system sorted so that everything is easy to find. I know where my Mom kept various things so I can file everything in one place. It’s all new to him, finances were something that he always left to my Mom and he doesn’t know where anything is.
