Morning Tuesday

Morning all

Thank you for all the good wishes.

All done, but what a palaver afterwards. The original plan was to have a bed in Spencer wing after the op. Instead I was in recovery from 12noon till 4.30pm. Not because there was anything wrong with me, they just couldn't find me a bed!!

Anyway I finally found myself in Sea Bathing ward in the main hospital. Not a problem I thought, the care is better here I thought. The latter bit is true, but sadly there are 3 dementia patients, hence me posting so early. Between them, proper sleep is impossible!!

As far as I know the op went well, I'm very sore but that's to be expected. I'm down for discharge Wednesday (tomorrow) but the final decision will be made by the therapist who is due to visit today. I'm hoping she has good tips for coping with the non weight bearing for when I get home. It all depends if I can stand on one leg so soon, we'll see.........

Hope you all have a good day xx

Great your op went ahead Jen. Hopefully you'll soon be discharged and back to your home comforts. xx

Good morning everyone.

Yesterday's showers must have decided to go elsewhere cos there sure didn't appear here!

Forecast sunny and 24°.
You can tell it's getting cooler.
I decided yesterday was my last swim and last night we put the ceiling fan off after twenty minutes.
We've just been discussing whether the quilt will go on the bed at the weekend. It's been off since April.

Going for a walk shortly. :D

Home to shower etc then walk into town to meet a friend for breakfast.

Don's taking the car in for its ITV.

TV tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Lovely to see you Jen and glad it went as well as it could. Shame about being on the ward with some dementia patients, they carry on all night, don't they? Hopefully you'll be back home tomorrow xx

Sunny at the moment, but more rain forecast this afternoon.

I had planned on doing some weeding this morning, but meeting friends instead  I know what I'd rather do

I've got some washing out, hopefully it will dry this morning.

Ally, we were saying the same, it'ss getting colder at night - down to 10C tonight  , but back up to 16C tomorrow night, so he and I will just have to cuddle up ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello and good morning you two and everyone else

Jen, so pleased the op finally went ahead - wishing you an as comfortable and speedy recovery as possible. Hopefully you'll be home soon and coping just fine xxx do you have anyone that can help with things?
Ally, 24 degrees sound quite lovely really, enjoy the cooler weather while it lasts  Enjoy the breakfast and good luck for the car
Jan, meeting up with friends vs weeding?  I also know what I'd rather be doing

Work from home day for me today - well half day only as I am attending a funeral this afternoon. I posted a while back about my lovely neighbour being taken to hospital; that was a Monday midday. I never did update, but sadly he passed away that Friday and his funeral is today. It was so quick which is a blessing for him, but a huge shock for everyone. He was talking to his children that morning and whilst his usual out of breath (he had lung cancer); he sounded like he always does and was making arrangements with his sister to bring some additional clothing and other bits to the hospital that afternoon as he was going to be transferred to a hospice, but 3pm he very unexpectedly passed away.

Meeting up with Nadine later today, which will be good

Have a lovely day all x

Morning all.
Here's to a swift recovery Jen. I hope you get home and get some proper sleep soon.
Dull, dark and chucking it down here today.
mrsC is cooking a cottage pie later and we are picking Eliza up after school.
Have a lovely day everyone.

Morning all, it’s raining  Edward set off walking to the golf club as there didn’t appear to be any rain forecast. He hadn’t gone too far when he decided to ring the club only to discover that the course is closed. He felt it should have been closed yesterday as the ground is very wet. So he came home, was only home five minutes before the sky got really dark and then the rain came down, he was lucky. The plumber is due today to fit our new kitchen mixer tap. I have plenty to do getting the house ready for visitors on Friday night and also want to clean the bathrooms, so I’d better get on with it.

Jen, I’m so glad the op finally went ahead. Hopefully you’ll get home today or tomorrow, you will definitely sleep much better in your own bed.

Afternoon all, it’s dry after a drizzly start.

It’s day three of “Shirt Wars” here, I’ll explain that on a private board but suffice to say that neither side is budging and negotiations by an independent party have failed.

I’ve ironed and hoovered, there’s washing in the machine but tomorrow looks like being dry all day so hopefully I can get that out first thing. Just thought I’d get it washed now.

Football tonight with Joe, not sure what time we’re setting off now he’s not working locally.

Glad all went well Jen!

Have a good day all :)
