Good morning.

Beautiful sunrise and forecast 25°.

We got our rain yesterday.

Not until 9pm and it chucked it down till midnight.
Desperately needed so we're happy.
What was unusual was the extremely high winds that came with it.
We're in the Guadalhorce valley and are rarely subjected to winds so last night was
We were watching our palm trees practically limbo dancing.

We're going into Malaga at 4pm on the bus to meet the twins.
It's their birthday on Monday but they'll both be away.
Conor in Scotland and Jacob in Jaen so they're taking us out for drinks, dinner and an evening in the city.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

All is calm this morning, although still rather blowy overnight.

Winter is now here - that was a quick autumn - only 20C today Two layers time, sometimes three, but still wearing flip-flops

Got the washing on, as it's going to be dry, so I can get a couple of loads done, hopefully.

Off to Ourique this morning, as we have to collect Grumpy's new driving licence. It's at the post office, so a bit of a trek, as they have the roads around it up - as they have been for most of the year Get some fresh veg in Aldi, drop off a prescription and pop into the Chinese for slippers

Back to do a curry for tomorrow and Grumpy to make some repairs. Even the gate down to the field has come to bits

Might pop down the bar later, we'll see how the weather is.

Morning all, very heavy rain here and it’s forecast to stay that way until 1am.

John’ll be home a bit later this evening as the company are holding a memorial event for the colleague who died suddenly in the Summer.

Joe’s working from home today and once he’s finished he’s driving down to Poole for the weekend. That’s one thing he’ll miss about his old job, finishing work at 11.30 on a Friday and being down south by late afternoon. He’s said though that once he’s settled into knowing what he has to do on Fridays he could always drive down straight from work on Thursdays and then do his work from Amanda’s. I think for now, while he’s still finding his feet, he’s just a bit concerned that he’ll need to go into the office at some point in the day which isn’t so easy from Poole!

The Tesco delivery is due later this morning. Let’s see how much short dated food they’ve tried to offload on us this week!

Work from home day for me - yay. I'm already dreading getting to/from work next week. For some reason, some clever (not!) body in the council has decided to authorise three sets of road works in our area. Usually not a problem if it weren't' for the fact that they are all at the same time, with two on the main road leading in and out of our village, bringing the road down to a single lane; and the lights are positioned in such a way that people don't realise that the way ahead isn't always clear so end up blocking said single lane, so nothing can move. The third set involves an actual road closure and traffic is diverted to a very narrow single track lane which means NOTHING can get through because there are only about 4 or 5 places one can pull over and pass, but they're blocked by cars that can't move anywhere; so it's all stationary. Not helped that people really just don't think and look ahead to see what's going on - everyone just wants to get home so will take whatever gap they can, not caring about the fact that their action has just exacerbated the whole mess. Unfortunately those are the only two routes I can take to get to the station I usually go from, so I may well have to go totally opposite and catch a train that takes an hour vs 30 mins; sigh..... I can already see my bloodpressure reaching unhealthy limits next week

Ria, that’s a continual problem around here too. Stafford in particular is horrendous at the moment with one major town centre road down to a one way lane for some months to come, then work has been on and off on the diversion route for the traffic diverted away from that, and as we were driving out the other night there was a sign warning of delays as work is starting on the A34 for a week.
John works in Lichfield, a 15 mile drive as he avoids the more direct but nose to tail A5 and takes a more rural route, but all roads this way out of Lichfield are being worked on and it’s taking him close to an hour to get home.

Good morning everybody.

Still only 13C. It is still rining and windy. not heavy rain but still lots of puddles. Have been out to Tesco for shopping. It means I wont have to go out again till next week.

Will be doing some ironing as I did the washing yesterday.
Ria, our local council altered on of the main roads leading into the center of town. The dual carraigway was altered and a cyce lane installed. The day the work finished
and it was fuly opened it was discovered a fire engine could not get past a lorry which was stationary at traffic lights as the lanes were too narrow. So another few months
of road works to widen the road. Seems like nobody uses tape measurs and rulers these days.

Morning all

Wet, wet, wet

We had a lovely lunch yesterday and the weather behaved nicely. San Clu is set up on the clifftop so when it's really windy it's hard to stay on your feet. eldest daughter and family are staying there on 2nd December, they're visiting to celebrate our 50th anniversary and Ed's birthday. She suggested we could all have lunch there so we've been checking out the menu, as good an excuse as any and I also wanted to see if their disability loo is wheelchair friendly. All seems good, so now it's wait and see if I can manage to get there. Obviously if not they will all come here, but with Z&M and the boys and if Hannah brings the girls that will make 14 of us, not ideal in our little bungalow. Also lots of work for Ed, I know both girls would help, but it would be a lot easier at the hotel.

Usual wash day Friday for me.

It hammered down in Ourique and I was dreading coming home to wet clothes on the line, but not a drop here

We ended up driving the wrong way down a one way street, to get out so the nightmare is in both countries

Blowing a hooley so defo slippers and curry weather.

Well, the rain got here then!
Constant gusty wind and rain here, and very grey.
We have been to do the weekend shop, MrsC has gone to her Uncle Jim's to take him his shopping.
It's an indoor day today, I think!
Cruiser, the pretence that everybody is happily going to ditch their cars and jump on a pushbike drives me nuts.
We have roadworks around us too, God knows what they are digging up this week.
