I'm working on the roof over the deck this weekend. I fly back to England on Monday evening, to Stockholm on Tuesday morning and back again on Thursday morning.

I'll try and be around but unlikely to be around much.

Travel is OK, but you can have too much of it sometimes. All that living out of 'small' suitcases is no fun at all.

No, deck as in the raised deck over the courtyard at the back of the house. I'm finishing the work of raising the roof from the Beam I put in.

I am working in Guildford Di. This is "fallout" from the disaster at work. The team in Stockholm want me over there to "agree" the processes going forward.

Sadly it's going to hurt them more than me as I will now be pushing a lot of priority work at them from people who are senior in the business and will not be happy about losing chunks of their day, so they will force me to ring their team in India up and get them out of bed. Nothing I can or will do now. In the end lots of pain will be suffered because a piece of software on my computer did something it was not configured to do. Oh and I forgot to delete the damned database too.....

It will be nice to see everyone in Stockholm, but I'm not enamoured of so much travel next week....

Now that I've had my breakfast, it's time to work....

I should be asleep as I have to get up at 2am and get ready to head off to Gatwick. Sadly not sleepy. It's obviously bugging me as I was awake at 4am this morning and had to drag myself out of bed to get the rest of the roof done.

Mrs S didn't buy enough roofing so I'm missing 3 panels but the horrendous part of working over the steps to the courtyard is done. Just 3 more full panels and two 1/3 panels left to fit when we get them.

I'm roasted though. It was HOT and sunny over the weekend and I was working in it all day. It'll take a few days for the sunburn to die down into brown. It'll take a few more days for the skin to grow back on my left thumb where I inadvertently sliced myself on the new planer. Fortunately it was off and I was cleaning the clogged up gunk out of it....

I think it's time to head to the hotel bar for a beer.....

Sounds familiar. I tried to chop my fingers off last Friday by putting the safety cover back on the saw. Keep knocking them and the start bleeding again. Grr.
