Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 18 Aug 2023, 05:29

Good morning.

Leaving Nerja yesterday to come back to the furnace that is our town has made me want to really seriously consider moving to the coast.

40° forecast today and no chance of a sea breeze means you'll find me in the pool, on my lilo looking at coastal properties!

I shall stay pool bound until Friday beers and tapas tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning everyone

Grey sky this morning, although it's still warm

Watering done, coffee being drunk and Grumpy will be outside in a mo, to start work on the car port. I have the joy of cleaning

Pool this afternoon, same as Ally, on the lilo, but with a book 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :)

I can understand you being tempted by sea breezes in that heat, Ally! xxx

Jan I envy you and Ally your pools :) ;) xxx

The usual Friday morning for me, SW meeting then brunch with Mick, but this afternoon we're going to Sofology in Cheltenham to order our new sofa - I'm very excited about it :Hi: :Hi:

A busy and sociable weekend ahead, tomorrow Becky and I are going to baby Nora's first birthday party :) Then on Sunday we're going out for lunch with the in-laws :) Shame the weather has reverted to rain and storms!

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Hello and good morning all, happy Friday

Ally, makes sense thinking about a coastal move - that sea breeze does make a difference. Would you still be looking to have your own pool as well (I know I would  )
Jan, enjoy your day, esp the pool when you get to it.
Kaz, happy sofa shopping - have you already chosen one or do you still need to decide? I'm rather jealous - I'd love a new sofa. I've got a super dooper sofa bed at the moment but it's not the most comfortable to sit on and it's impossible to have a quick afternoon nap on it, or lie on it to watch TV because of it's size and design.

Well Friday wfh day which usually means very quiet. Trusy laptop and I will be heading into town a bit later to meet up with Nadine for a wonder around the shops and then a bite to eat somewhere

It's a very dull, dreary and wet day here today - rain expected through to midday but then hopefully clear.

have a lovely day everyone x

Morning all, it’s raining but at least me and Bill got our walk just before it started.

Waiting for the Tesco delivery in the next hour and Bill’s prescription eye drops are being delivered by DPD this afternoon. I’ve taken to uploading his prescription and buying them from an online chemist rather than going into Tesco, nine times out of ten they call and say that they can’t get them. It’s not like they’re something out of the ordinary either, they’re commonly used ‘human’ eye drops. I don’t even bother with the disorganised mess of a pharmacy attached to the surgery on the estate any more.
It works out cheaper too, even with postage factored in!

Joe’s back from work at lunchtime and then he’s driving down to Poole. Amanda finishes work at 4.30pm so he’s worked out that if he leaves around 1pm he should time it right to meet her.

Enjoy sofa shopping Kaz!

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny when I got up, looks like someone turned the light off right now, the forecast says rain this afternoon.

Ally moving here by the coast is the best thing we could have done.
Enjoy the pool Jan.
Happy sofa buying Kaz.
Have a nice WFH day Ria.
Hope all your deliveries arrive on time Jo.

We had a nice lie in this morning so I'm a bit behind with the washing, the machine hasn't quite finished the first load yet. Expecting a delivery from Sainsbury's this afternoon and that's about it.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all.
Drizzling here, where did that come from?
There's a sea breeze on the East Coast of Yorkshire too Ally, but in winter? Oh my Lord, it goes straight through you! Jan, are you going to do fifty lengths? :D
I can understand you liking living next to the sea Jen. It is soothing, somehow.
Enjoy sofa shopping Kaz, stay as cool as you can Ally. Enjoy your meet up Ria.
Jo, is Bill OK with the eye drops?
Eliza is here, busy busy.
Have a nice day everyone.

I take my hat off to you Jan.

Good afternoon! We are at sea today, at the moment we are crossing from the Bay of Biscay to the English Channel heading for Cherbourg. The Bay of Biscay was pretty calm but now the sea has got heavier and there has been rain. The English Channel was bumpy Sunday into Monday too. We’re having a lovely time and getting in plenty of dancing every evening. Tonight is 20s night so shortly I’ll be putting on my Charleston dress and getting ready for dinner. Tomorrow we are going on an excursion from Cherbourg to Mont St Michel, somewhere I have wanted to visit for many years. Then Sunday we arrive back into Southampton and onwards to Dublin.
