Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 09 Aug 2023, 05:37

Good morning.

Yesterday was such a fantastic day!

The UCI Cycling World Championships are currently in Glasgow and the amount of people out to cheer them on was incredible.
I stood at a barrier for ages watching some of them whilst conversing with a Spanish couple who were over on holiday from Valencia.

The Mary Quant exhibition was excellent and I was practically drooling at the dresses reminding me how much I love the 60s fashion. :D

I came out of there, went down an alley and stumbled across a charity shop.
Went in...and bought a gorgeous dress for £1. It was in the sale!
I'm going to wear it today.

It's two years today that dad died. :(

My cousin is picking me up this morning and I'm going to B&Q to buy two heather plants to place at my grandparents graves.

On then to visit my lovely aunt Maureen.

Getting the 5.20 train into Glasgow with 8 friends and we're going to the World Buffet.
We went there when I was over in June and I've never known anywhere sell food like it. Its title says it all.

We've got an escape room booked for 8pm. This one is for 90mins and apparently is difficult.
As we did the last one with only three minutes to spare this should be hilarious.

Train back in time to have a couple of ciders in the local before heading back home with Michelle to conk out.

Have a great day.

Had a lovely lunch with my friends yesterday and today is another wfh day with a cheeky nail appointment at 2pm thrown in. Got tomorrow and Friday off so I can get down to the allotment and do some much needed clearing and cleaning up

Morning everyone

Rather grey and very pleasantly cool this morning, although we have the Sahara dust too

Big hug Ally xx Your day yesterday sounds brilliant and enjoy the escape room.

Took this infernal machine over half an hour to get ready for me to do anything  Combination of the infernal machine and the clouds, I would think.

Both doors open, all windows open and fan going, just to try and cool the house down a bit. I run around like a mad thing, opening windows/shutters, closing windows/shutters, do really well and then we get mega hot and it all goes down the swanny

Grumpy cutting wood outside in the cool, for the new car port and I have ironing later.

Have as good a day as you can everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s sunny

Had an early wake up when an airport taxi arrived next door at 3am. The kids were running around shouting and the dogs were barking (which makes me wonder who was going seeing as the dogs are still there, maybe the kids going away with another parent. They’ve got five kids between them who all live there at one time or another and the two dogs are barking constantly. They’re so noisy yet have the audacity to hang a sign on the front door asking not to be disturbed as she’s a nurse who works nights!

I had to go into Stafford yesterday to get John a blue shirt and claret coloured tie. It’s his colleague’s funeral on Friday and the dress code is no black and Aston Villa colours of claret and blue.

Al, I’ll,be thinking of you today x
The buffet sounds like Cosmo in Wolverhampton, there’s an amazing selection of food there!

Have a good day all :D

Oh Jan we’ve had that horrid Saharan dust here before now, it’s awful and gets everywhere  xx

Enjoy getting your nails done Ria :D xx

Jo, what a cheek! xxx

We were up really early for the carpet fitters to arrive at 8am :) They we’re here for just before that, and gone well before nine, never seen such a fast and efficient job, and the living room looks fab, it goes great with the new wallpaper. Will pop a photo on later, on the Home board :)

Am about to walk into town to meet my friend J then probably up to D’s. Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all, it’s overcast here but quite bright and mild. Edward has gone for a walk and I have plenty to do - ironing, renegotiate our phone contract and maybe make an appointment to get bloods done when we get back, to see if the statins are doing their job. My sister said she would call at some stage, and I have a nice relaxing pedicure booked for 3pm. So busy busy!

Good morning.
Busy day Ally!
MrsC has gone to see her Aunt Sally; her husband (Uncle Harry) died last week when we were on holiday. There is a family problem coming up and it is going to be a delicate matter. Harry was looking after some money for another family member and as he kept those sort of things to himself, nobody knows what he did with it.
Jan that dust is a pest. Posh new carpet Kaz! Jo, people like that are such a pain. Hope the statins are doing the trick Osc. Sparkly nails Ria?
Have a good day everyone.

Lovely sunshine 8-)

((((Ally)))) xx

Up really early, did a quick trolley dash at M&S ready for the invasion tomorrow. Busy day for me, really must give the house a good tidy and push the Shark round, it's not been done for a week  Honestly by the time I got back and we'd showered and Ed had done his exercises we were both cream crackered  He'll have a walk before lunch then I expect we'll both collapse this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day xx
