Good Morning Thursday

Postby JanB » 03 Aug 2023, 06:41

Morning everyone

Really cold north wind, blew all night and it will be here today too  Warm enough in the sun, but not in the shade

Watered all my little pots, have put more cuttings in as the blasted rabbits are eating all they can find in the flower beds, away from the house. We have a light on in the main bathroom, so that shines out over some of the garden, so they steer clear of the light. But the rest of the garden seems to be their food market

Grumpy has a couple of outside jobs to do and I'll clean the kitchen cupboards. Got to be done sometime and I don't want to go out again in that wind.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Jan and Vic and everyone.

I was up at 4 AM to see the super moon as the sky was clear. It was big and very bright, almost like silvery white daylight. We now have blue skies with just a few clouds, but it is cold - 13 °C with a strong wind swinging from the NE to NW.

For Jo, the Perseids will be at their peak on the 12th and 13th with only the last sliver of the waning moon visible - almost at 1% - so if the skies are clear........ From midnight to about 4 AM find the Pole star, the Perseids are abut half as high in the sky and almost due NE.

Morning all, it’s sunny….rain’s forecast for this afternoon though so I won’t get too giddy about it

Bill had an early walk and then I went for a 3 mile run, it was so humid with hardly any breeze and I had the added pressure of a notification of an imminent parcel delivery when I was the furthest point from home  It arrived about 20 minutes after I got home, I was able to track the van on a map so jumped into a very welcome cool shower as soon as I was back.

Frank, thanks for that! We’re quite lucky here in that we’re not really affected by light pollution. I think I’m home alone on the peak, on the 12th at least, so rather than sit outside in the dark (cos I’m a scaredy cat) I’ll probably lean out of the spare room window on the second floor
That’s if the sky is clear of course!

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, it’s mostly cloudy here but at least it’s not raining - yesterday was just miserable. My ankle is very much better, not 100% but getting there, I’ll wear my trainers today instead of sandals. We are heading off to Wicklow for the day, collecting Edward’s golf clubs on the way as he will be playing in the family scramble golf competition. We’ll have something to eat there before coming home this evening. I’ll bring my book and have a nice relaxing afternoon while the men play golf. Before we go, I’ll pop down to Miss Osc’s office to collect any post as she is WFH in Wicklow. Just need to make the bed and tidy around generally before we go. Today is Miss Osc’s 21st wedding anniversary  Not sure where those years have gone.

Morning all :D

Nice and sunny 8-)

I was up at 7.30am so I could rush over to M&S ready for them to open at 8. There and back in less that an hour in spite of two lots of road works I wasn't expecting. Finally sitting down for brekkie after showers and Ed's exercises. That's me done for the day, I'm cream crackered already

Hope you all have a good day xx

Just spoken to Amanda and she’s busy exploring Poole, she sent a pic of the sea view from the road she’s living on - I’m green with envy!

Tom’s just messaged and he’s on the train from Berlin to Krakow. It takes over 8 hours  Not quite so green with envy at his journey but looking forward to hearing what he thinks about Krakow, it’s on my list.

It's cool and threatening yet more rain here, although we did have some sunshine earlier. Went to Tesco's with Mick, and cleaned the oven when we got back - oh, the excitement! :P ;)
