Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 22 Jul 2023, 06:01

Good morning.

I had to really think what day it was before I typed!

Yesterday was fabulous from start to finish.
The only 'thing' was, when we went to New Oscott to Eddy's grave, there was a 'note' on it saying attention was required and a telephone number which Don will ring on Monday. :?
It wasn't there when we visited last summer (sadly I think we're the only ones left to do so.)
I'll update you after Don's made the necessary call.
It's incredibly sad that Eddy was only 22 when he was killed. :(

Jackie and myself are going over to Gez and Sharon's around 2pm.
Ciara (their daughter) came up from London yesterday for her birthday and the massive Brennan family are having a party for her. :D

We'll stay for a few hours then going to meet Trevor (Jackie's fiancé) at his mum's.
Don's still at Gez's and I'm having another night staying at Jackie's.
We're meeting up with a group of ladies in Solihull tonight for drinks and a Thai meal. :D

Have a great day.

Morning!

Ally, I hope Don can get that sorted - living in Spain, he can hardly be expected to visit and maintain regularly :? 22 is terribly young, it's very sad :( (((((((x)))))))))

Have a great time at the party, and the meal tonight :) xxx

We're off to Staines today, to my cousin Mark's 60th :) It will be great to catch up with extended family :) Tonight Mick and I have a Premier Inn booked, B will stay at her dad's and Chris will just drive home to Langley which isn't that far. We're taking Fraggle, he'll stay overnight with Becky at her dad's.

The weather forecast isn't that great, so fingers crossed as the party is at his home, and usually their parties extend out into the garden. Mark runs a marquee hire business and at his 50th the back garden was all covered over, so we'll see. Hopefully this time they won't be playing punk rock, last time Mick nearly did himself an injury doing the pogo! :? :cute:

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning everyone

Slightly overcast this morning but the wind has dropped, thankfully.

Have a great time you two, at your respective parties xx

Hope whatever the problem is, is easily sorted Ally x

Not sure what we'll be doing today. I might do the kitchen cupboards. I was very virtuous the other day and cleaned out the food fridge and also a deep clean (much needed)  of the hob.

Taking all the recycling away this afternoon. We have to go into Ourique to get rid of it, as the local bins are full - again  Also need some stuff from the Chinese and we'll have a pit stop at the bar, pre curry.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

That's the thing Kaz.

When Con was alive he took care of any paperwork regarding the grave which Don then took over when Con died.
He'd notified New Oscott's office when we moved to Spain twenty years ago with our address and phone numbers.

Our concern is, how long has that notice been there, and if we hadn't seen it yesterday what would happen in the future? And why has no one contacted us. :?

On walking round we did notice a few other gravestones (not many) with the same type of note.

Morning all, it’s grey and dreary here after a LOT of rain overnight and plenty more forecast for today. I’m going to yoga this morning, then we are heading off to Wicklow for the night - Miss Osc and hubby are going to see Imelda May and then staying in a hotel for the night. It’s an outdoor concert, such a shame about the weather. Michael and Edward are booked to play golf this evening but again, the forecast is terrible :( There is a dance we could go to on our way home tomorrow, but we’ll go with the flow and not put pressure on Miss Osc and SIL to be home by a certain time, they need time on their own. We’ll eat in the golf club this evening and go out for breakfast tomorrow too, I do like breakfast out. Right, need to get everything sorted before I go to yoga, you wouldn’t believe the amount of stuff needed for one night - we actually bring our own bedding to save Miss Osc the trouble of changing and washing sheets and we do prefer our own pillows.

Hope Ed had a good night.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny, but every few minutes the clouds come over, think we're in for some rain.

Lovely to have Ed home, but neither of us had a great night, he couldn't get comfortable and was a bit restless so of course I was constantly being woken up. As usual he's come back with a long list of exercises which will definitely be done, he calls me his RSM (Regimental Sergeant Major) He's still a bit shaky at times and needs help dressing etc. all to be expected, but that will improve over the next few days. Overall he's in great spirits and is already cracking his usual truly awful jokes, always a good sign ;)

Not much happening here, I've got some washing on the go, mainly the clothes Ed wore in hospital. Won't be surprised if I doze off on the settee at some stage this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good morning.
Jen, I hope you both have a better night tonight.
MrsC was up at 5.55 am this morning and had baked and decorated a chocolate cake by 8am. :o
Raining here too Saundra, in fact it's been chucking it down all morning.
Have a good day all.
