Good Morning Bank Holiday Monday

Postby Kaz » 08 May 2023, 06:21

And it's raining, of course :cute:

Really glad we got the plants in yesterday, as gardening is out of the question  No real plans for today, we'll be round at D's at some point later.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning Kaz.

Like you I spent most of yesterday in the garden I have put most of the plants in which were in small plastic pots. Have still got some sunflowers which are in pots on the windowsill
in the kitchen. Have also started growing some dahlias from seed. I also want some begnias. Will get them from a nusery. It only sells plants. Not like some of the big garden
centres.
Will be doing housework today. Not going outside as it is raining.

Have a good day everybody

Morning Kaz, Cruiser and everyone

Blowing a hooley  which made watering and putting the washing out take much longer than normal. And a cold wind too. And Molly insisted on walking around my feet and trying to trip me up as I was putting the washing out.

Normal day here, of course.

Not sure what we'll be doing today, especially with that wind, it's really cold.

Will take the rubbish down the bin and do the recycling later, so that means a visit to the bar

Havea good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning.
Raining steadily here too.
MrsC is going to the Church today for an event called "Pimms and Hymns", which sounds interesting.
Beef stew for tea tonight.
Apart from that I need to send a couple of emails and get a paper and that's about it.
Hope the wind drops soon Jan and watch out for Molly!
Have a good day all.

Morning all from a damp and dreary Wicklow, it was very cold last night. We’re just finishing breakfast and will eventually decide what to do today, in the hope that the weather might improve. We thoroughly enjoyed the concert last night, we were watching on our separate iPads as Edward was watching football during the first part. The setting was fantastic, it was great to see military musicians being used, the drones were amazing, and finishing with Take That just topped it all off. I felt rather old when I saw Steve Winwood as I remember him when he was about 15 starting out with the Spencer Davis Group, and now somehow he is a year older than I am

Afternoon all, we’re SO tired

Joe, Amanda and three of their friends went to Manchester yesterday to celebrate Joe’s 23rd birthday which is today. They’d booked a hotel in the city centre, a Leonardo which was Jury’s previously so a decent hotel. My phone rang at 2am and it was Joe. They couldn’t get into the hotel and had been trying for two hours, and phone batteries were dying so could I check they had the right number etc. They’d checked in earlier, gone out for food, gone back to the hotel to change for their night out and on returning the 24 hour reception was in darkness, there was no sign of life and no one was answering the phone or hearing their knocks on the door! I kept trying to ring, no answer. Joe’s phone was okay because he’d had it on a power bank until that died so he was ringing too. Finally at 3am my call was answered, I explained what had happened and the man (sounded like a young Manc lad) said that they were having problems with people accessing the entrance due to roadworks and that his colleague was talking to Joe on another line. Odd that suddenly we both had our calls answered! Joe was told that they should go to Piccadilly station and was given directions from there, we assumed that perhaps there was a separate night entrance they should’ve gone to. I was talking to him and also following on a map while they walked, it was at least 10 minutes and they ended up where they started! However, by then the lights were on inside and they were let in and compensated with free breakfast. He said they were very apologetic, what’s the betting they were either asleep, watching TV or engrossed in gaming?

Jo, that's shocking!
The staff were obviously not doing their job.

Complain, that is awful.

The complaints book we have over is brlliant. If nothing is done by the company the police get involved. And it then gets sorted so quickly

Every business, be it heath centre, office, government offices, have to have it by law.
