Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 28 Apr 2023, 05:05

Good morning.

Had a great flight over yesterday and it was so lovely to see a smiling Craig waiting in arrivals. :cute:

We're walking into the town centre this morning.
I did an Argos click and collect for a new watch.
Craig's got a few things to buy and an M&S visit is a must.

We'll have lunch out too.

The local tonight to meet up with a load of Craig's friends. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally glad you had a good journey :D Enjoy your day with Craig :) xx

Morning everyone! Another grey day here, which is a bit disappointing as the Pilates girls and I have tickets for a home and garden show in the grounds of Sudeley Castle. Lots of stuff to look at, so it should be a fun day out, but some sunshine would have been nice  Em and I have the SW meeting first, then Fi and Sarah are walking up to D's as we're going in her car. Sarah is a florist so got two free tickets, Em and I sent off for a couple - they were only a fiver, plus we got a free VIP pass with ours for a drink  ;)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning everyone

Bit cloudy this morning, but warm. Although not the blistering heat of yesterday, much more normal temps of 32C

One of next doors dogs kept us awake most of the night and when it shut up at 7, we both zonked out, so a late start.

Cleaning this morning and we have friends coming round this afternoon, for a much needed catch-up. Drinks and nibbles will keep us going for hours  We first met them before we moved here and they would send us details of houses up for sale, we'd pop up, see the house and them.

Blasted dog has started agian. If we can hear, so must they, but leave it to bark   well, it's what dogs do, apparently, Bark.

Enjoy your day out Kaz, sounds lovely xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

hello and good morning everyone

Ally enjoy the time with Craig x
Oooh Kaz, the garden show sounds lovely, have fun despite the lack of sunshine
Cruiser, same weather here; lots of rain last night but meant to be dry now through to Sunday evening. Fingers crossed it does stay like that because then I can mow the lawns
Jan, have the bestest time with your friends x As for the dogs; that is frustrating..... yes dogs bark; but not all the time. I just don't understand how people can just leave them to bark and not do anything; I get annoyed when my chickens make noise for more than a minute; no way could I put up with my dog (if I had one) barking non-stop  When we were living in SA one of the neighbours went away for a few days and left their dog behind (someone else was popping in to feed it etc); but as is norm in SA dogs often are kept outside and poor Toby howled and barked most of the day and night because he was left alone. He was such a friendly dog that craved company so no wonder he was unhappy. All neighbours rather unhappy as well, so the 2nd night we gave him a sleeping tablet wrapped in meat - we all (including Toby) had a super nights sleep that night

well another usual/usual for me. PIcking up an elderly neighbour of Karl and Nadine's this afternoon; he's had a hip replacement so not very mobile at the moment. And Friday's is his usual day to visit his wife who is in a dementia care home. Nadine has taken him a few times in the past, but today she has another appointment so I offered to take him instead. Karl will be here later this afternoon to do a bit more in the bathroom. But that's the extent of my exciting plans.

Have a marvellous Friday everyone x

Morning all, it’s grey and inclined to drizzle here  Off to the gym in a while, but in the meantime, I will ice some buns I made yesterday - tonight we are going to a dance which is a fundraiser for the Ukraine/Ireland Dance Appeal. This is a fund set up with the aim of bringing up to 100 children here for a week’s holiday to give them time away from the war. In Ukraine, children are having their dance lessons and even competitions in basements and bombed out buildings. The organiser of the appeal who is a top coach and judge knows very many Ukrainian dancers, and has been heartbroken by what is happening so has channeled his heartbreak into trying to give the children a positive experience in the midst of the horror. I’ll ice some of the buns blue and some yellow, I’m not clever enough to put blue and yellow on each bun! We’ll go a bit earlier to help our hosts set up the room - it’s our usual Friday night social but they are hoping for a really good turnout.

Morning all, the only positive I can give about the weather is that it’s stopped raining (for now)

Bill’s had his walk and now I’m waiting for the Tesco delivery, that’s due between 11 and 12. I’ll dry my hair while I’m waiting. If the weather stays dry - IF - I’ll leave the washing until Joe gets back at lunchtime as he’ll need his work fleece for Tuesday and it doesn’t look like good drying weather over the weekend.

There are a few parcels due too, delivered by Royal Mail and Amazon.

Other than that I might find a brick wall to bang my head up against. It’s my Dad’s 90th birthday tomorrow so we’re going out for dinner, or rather lunch because it was delegated to me to book and my sister then said that 12.30 suits them better. Dad’s insisting that he wants to go to the restaurant down the lane from us, there’s been a change of chef since he was last there though and everything on the menu is either with a red wine reduction or in berry jus or whatever - and he won’t have anything like that, a slice of tomato on his burger in ‘Spoons tipped him over the edge! I’d confirmed the numbers earlier in the week too and now that’s changed but no one bothered to tell me.

Enjoy your day out Kaz, hope you get a bit of sunshine!

Have a good day all :D

Morning all.
Grey and chilly here but last night's heavy rain has stopped.
Staying in today as I have tested positive for Covid. First time I've had it, I'm taking immunosuppresant drugs for inflammatory arthritis which won't have helped. I'm actually feeling a lot better than I did a few days since, we take the positives.
Have a good day all.
