Thanks for that Shaz! :D when the kids complain I can tell them about how it's eaten around the world. :D
Yes ally it does work really well for us. Frozen to in the bowl in around 2 minutes. Their portions are still really small so it heats up quick.

Cut?? I must not make my porridge properly as I wouldn't be able to eat it in slices! I like it quite sloppy, not as runny as custard but certainly not cut-able! :|

Lol Gal, I have to admit to liking my porridge quite thick but not so much that I have to take a knife to it!!!

I mentioned earlier that a lot of people up at the cabins would make vast pots of porridge and just eat from it until it ran out. These were the hardier folk who lived there all year long and they really had went back to basics.
One of the residents lives in a cabin that was little more than a shanty and I remember him calling us in one day to show us something or other. Whilst standing there(I was afraid to sit because the cabin wasn't very clean) I looked up and saw a huge pot balanced on the beams near the ceiling. Catching me looking the man explained that was his pot of porridge and he'd just take some from it when hungry and heat it up in a smaller pot. He then asked if I was hungry and did I want some porridge. I politely refused and was so glad I had when he explained to me that his cabin had mice and they enjoyed running along the beams and eating some porridge.   I was almost physically sick on the spot-he really was a manky old man!

I have been eating lots of yoghurt for breakfast recently as I bought a huge tub of it from Lidl last time I was there.

I picked our first lot of rhubarb from the allotment last week and stewed that with some brown sugar and put it in the fridge and have had a big blob of it stirred in with my yoghurt.

I bought some frozen black cherries and some frozen fruits of the forest that were on offer in Sainsburys a couple of weeks ago and will have them as a change now and again.

I have been making a real effort to eat breakfast every morning and feel much better for it - although I am obviously a namby pamby breakfast eater compared to all you rufty tufty porridge eaters.

They had some Belvita breakfast biscuits on offer in Sainsburys last week Meri so I bought some. They are lovely and ideal to just shove a packet in your bag.

I do find that I need a drink with them though.

A bowl of muesli. I like the Swiss one from Aldi. When we are cruising, I will have a cooked breakfast some mornings, or smoked salmon and tomatoes.
