That Femail bond, many years later.

As most of you will know, we met up with Alialiloo on Tuesday, it was wonderful to see her again after so many years and we agreed that the bond we all formed in those early internet forum days has not faded.

After a super last night of dancing on Tuesday night, I woke up in the early hours of yesterday morning having a severe attack of vertigo, the room was spinning and I could not even move my head on the pillow without feeling incredibly nauseous. I did have some Serc tablets in our little medical kit and took one but it didn’t help much. I couldn’t get back to sleep at all. Edward went to breakfast around 8am but I still could not even lift my head. So of course the matter of getting back to Leeds/Bradford airport and onwards home started to concern us. The hotel were fantastic, allowed us to keep the room until midday then 3pm, we needed to leave around 4pm. Edward finished the packing then went off so I could try and sleep, although I didn’t sleep much. Around 1pm, I started to feel fractionally better but felt I could not safely drive back to the airport, so I phoned the car hire company who said that in the circumstances, they would collect the car from the hotel.

Then I had a brainwave - I phoned Ali (imagine, I still had her number!!) and asked if there was any way she could bring us to the airport, she agreed immediately. I managed to get up and have a shower and was dozing in reception when she arrived to collect us. I’ll never forget her kindness. All went well flightwise and by the time we got to Dublin I was able to drive home. I WhatsApped Ali when I got home and she said I was unwell miles away from home so I contacted someone I knew, and she would have done the same thing. That Femail bond…..
