Just got my car insurance renewal

And it has nearly Doubled. Seriously not amused I did a comparison search. For my policy (SAGA gives 365 day green card), it has, indeed, doubled from all providers.

I will pay it, grudgingly, but the second I get an opportunity to find a much cheaper provider I'll be gone.

i always doa search when both my car and house insurance are due for renewal.
last year got renewal for the house and contents which had nearly doubled. went on line and got a qhote for similar cover at less than i was paying the previous year.
wil have to wait and see what happens in august when the car insurance is due.
have seen an article where insurnace comanies are increasiung the cost of extras and admin fees as they cannot easily alter the standard
insurance premium.
an undrehand method of increasing their profits.

Suff, what's all this about a greeen card? So long as you have minimum TPFT you are automatically covered in nearly all of Europe. You only need to physically carry one in a few countries like Albania, Belarus, Russia .....

Is your problem that you live in France but are still driving on a UK licence using UK insurance?

No the problem is that I am 180 days in the UK and 180 days in Europe. So standard policies have explicit no cover clauses.

However, even then, the very cheapest policy, UK only, is nearly double my last year quote.

Literally they have all nearly doubled.
