Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JanB » 08 Feb 2023, 08:21

Morning everyone

Dull, grey, wet and cool. Just had some mizzle and that's been our lot so far.

We were forecast a lot of rain yesterday, we didn't get a drop here, although it was damp in Ourique when we went in. The Algarve and Beja have had thunderstorms, hailstones and a lot of rain, so we're keeping fingers crossed we get some of that

Into Ourique maybe before breakfast, to do the shopping. We need to tax the car too, but that can wait until next week.

A day for staying in and reading 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning.

It rained on and off yesterday for ten lovely hours but was incredibly mild.
The gardens look so refreshed and glorious.

More showers today from noon till around 8pm so I'm off for my walk shortly. :D

Sunshine back tomorrow....it is nice having wet weather for a change though. :D

We're going food shopping early afternoon and will have a spot of lunch whilst out. :D

GB Menu tonight (last night I was roaring laughing WhatsApping with Ria  ). I wonder if he'll have those boots on again Ria?!

The excellent Surgeons is on too.

Have a great day.

Good morning everybody.

Another brightbut cold day. Frost on the windscreen so had to use the de-icer before I wentfor the paper.
Sorting out the garage. Want to take rubbish to the tip. It will include two large cardboard boxes. Bought a new vacuum cleaner. It is a Shark corded
and is brillaint.

Then just pootling
We have not had rain this month. February used to be known as "Fill dyke". There will be a hose pipe ban shortly.
Have a good day everybody

Hello and good morning everyone

Jan, a lazy day for reading sounds fab, enjoy it
Cruiser, hope you get things sorted for the tip.
Ally, that was funny last night - seriously those boots made my eyes pop out! But looking forward to watching this evening

Cruiser, it's been very dry here as well, but I think our reservoirs are full so fingers crossed it'll be a while before they start mumbling about bans; we were one of the few regions last year that didn't have one.
It's another glorious sunny crisp cold winter morning here; just beautiful. Alas I'm in the office :| but at least I have a lovely view from my office window overlooking Embankment Gardens and (this time of year only) can see the boats on the Thames.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

Morning all, it’s bright but cool here. I’m up a little bit earlier than usual as I have an optician appointment at 10.30 just to check out that all is ok after the gel detachment while I was away. It’s in a shopping centre so I’ll pop into the supermarket afterwards for a few bits. Then back to face the large pile of ironing resulting from all the post holiday washing :x

Last night I booked flights and car hire for our trip to Skipton for a dance break at the end of March - I was putting the suitcases away in the attic yesterday and thinking that in another six weeks they will be down again :D

Good morning.
A lovely sunny one here.
Skipton Osc, gateway to the Dales. Home of Ermysted's Grammar School. A nice little market town with a canal running through it, though it has been many years since I was there.
In a little while we are off for a paper and then for a bit of shopping.
Have a great day everyone.

Morning all,sunny and frosty again.

Well the she clinic was rammed !

Didn't know what to expect but had 2 drops in both eyes then read the letter chart.

Then in to see the laser Dr who put another 2 drops in both eyes and a contact lens in my right eye.

Then stars at the white light on her lens thingy ,she said you will see red lights then green lights , then the laser will start , boy did it !

I could see a red strip and then flash after flash after flash as the red strip moved back and forwards across my eye, must have been close to 70/100 clashes of yellow light.
Not painful more uncomfortable as it felt like something "hard" at the back of the eye.

After although I could see with that eye she said it would not focus for a few minutes, then I could see pink then red then green but it cleared as she said it would.

So back on 28th March and see what they say.

Ouch Vic

It was so miserable out there, we gave Finances a miss and just did the shopping. There is a really nasty cold wind, so I-m staying in, Grumpy has to water the veg, although all the weather sites still say we-re on yellow alert.

Speaking to a friend in Chada Nova, which is about 3 miles away as the crow flies, it hammered down there yesterday afternoon  Dry as a bone here

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny, but cold.

Didn't have much luck in Boots yesterday, couldn't believe how many shelves were empty, only came out with some paracetamol in the end. Anyway when we got home I decided to try an online order and most of the things we went for were in stock. Had an e-mail this morning saying it's already left their warehouse and should be with me by the 10th. Not sure why they're having a problem getting stock into their stores :?

No plans for today, staying inside in the warm.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s sunny and there’s still a bit of frost lying around.

Had a lovely mud-free walk with Bill first thing, the sunrises have been stunning this week :D

I’ve wrapped Tom’s birthday presents for tomorrow, it took me longer to open the roll of wrapping paper than it did to wrap the presents. I got it from Sainsbury’s last night and it’s one of those environmentally friendly ones with stickers holding it closed rather than being wrapped in thin plastic. The stickers weren’t easy peel by any stretch of the imagination though!

I’ve got to meet Joe in Stafford later, he’s on a course at work this week so is working 9-5. We’re heading up to Manchester this evening though so it’ll save time if I meet him there rather than him come home first.

Al and Ria, I’ve not managed to watch ANY of it this year yet, am I right guessing that it’s Michael O’Hare this week? Can’t think of anyone else who would wear boots worth talking about

Have a good day all :)
