Best laid plans and all that

Postby JanB » 05 Feb 2023, 13:30

We had planned on going to England later this year.

Yes, both of us and in time for the Birmingham meet too :D Arrive at either Gatwick or Heathrow, stay with Ria, travel up for the meet, then back to either Ria's or Julia's for a day or so and then fly back.

Was chatting to a nurse friend this morning and she informed me, in no uncertain terms, that I will NOT be flying for a minimum of six months.

Apparently, any hernia op - and especially the one I will be having - takes quite a while to settle down and the air cabin pressure will play havoc with it.

So I'm very sorry, you're not going to have the pleasure of our company this year :|

Jan, I did wonder if you'd be able to fly given the timescale of the impending op. :|

You'd mentioned maybe late June to come over but now I've got a flight booked for July 20 for the wedding I might put a post up re a Brum meet for round about then.

He still has loads of hair Saundra, and glasses, like Batty Granny

I am gutted, but Grumpy is quite happy, as I pushed him, a little , to get him to agree.

We'll have to see what the surgeon has to say. I'm already booked to see her on 4 April, so guessing the op will be between 24 February and then.

I'll try and get Grumpy over again, sometime.
