We had planned on going to England later this year.

Yes, both of us and in time for the Birmingham meet too Arrive at either Gatwick or Heathrow, stay with Ria, travel up for the meet, then back to either Ria's or Julia's for a day or so and then fly back.

Was chatting to a nurse friend this morning and she informed me, in no uncertain terms, that I will NOT be flying for a minimum of six months.

Apparently, any hernia op - and especially the one I will be having - takes quite a while to settle down and the air cabin pressure will play havoc with it.

So I'm very sorry, you're not going to have the pleasure of our company this year

Jan, I did wonder if you'd be able to fly given the timescale of the impending op.


You'd mentioned maybe late June to come over but now I've got a flight booked for July 20 for the wedding I might put a post up re a Brum meet for round about then.

It would be lovely to see the grandchildren in Windsor I don't think you have seen the youngest wasn't he born about when Scarlett was born she is 8 I remember he had loads of hair

I am gutted, but Grumpy is quite happy, as I pushed him, a little , to get him to agree.

We'll have to see what the surgeon has to say. I'm already booked to see her on 4 April, so guessing the op will be between 24 February and then.

I'll try and get Grumpy over again, sometime.
