Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 29 Jan 2023, 07:16

Good morning.

Glorious sunshine and 16°. Due to start rising from Wednesday. :cute:

Off for my walk shortly. :D

Jacob stopped over last night. Well, I say last night. He got in from the party at 5.30 this morning.

Once he surfaces we're going over to his place with him. He bought his apartment last year for a song and has been getting it all done up and it's finished now so he wants to show it off to us.

He's buying us breakfast at his local cafe.

Roast chicken for dinner, DOI and Happy Valley tonight. Bliss. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny but cold. And a thick frost this morning, which is slowly melting.

We're warming up from Wednesday too - might even get to the dizzy height of 3C at night

I really want to get out and do some stuff outside, down by the gate, but it's just too cold. Might pop down around 3.00, see what it's like then. Just need to tidy up around some plants we put in and pinch some of David and Rita's gravel ;)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Mick and are are indoors at Corretto’s again :D Becky is giving Fraggle a bath and trimming his nails - a much needed pamper session for him  ;) We’ll be round to D’s after this. I’m making a cottage pie for later, with lots of veg.

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Good morning everybody.
It is still cold and grey but dry. Have been to Tesco for a few things. Will now be having a coffee.
When I went to Boundary Mill in Friday bought some little dishes which would fit in my air fryer.
Solast night tried two dishes of beef stew in the iar fryer. Brillaint. Much quicket than in the oven anf just as good. Also easier to clean as no dirty bowl
and no residue on the inside of the air fryer.

Now going to have a coffee and read the paper. Expexting a phone call from grand-daughter this afternoon. We will have to re-arrange the visit
in May. The lady who will do the manicure and facial is away the dates we have chosen.
Planted the daihia tubers yesterday.
Have a good day everybody.

Good morning.

Jacob sounds a handy lad Ally. Jan, that does sound cold. I never think of that there warm Portugal as being chilly. Kaz, does Fraggle like a bath? Cruiser, we used to have Dahlias in the front garden.

Son went to the local Working Man's Club last night. They have a list up on the wall of people who are barred! Some for life, some temporarily. One is a woman. I wonder if they still have an old bloke on the door, checking if you are a member and getting you signed in if you aren't?

The family is coming over for Sunday dinner, which is always nice.

Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Apart from getting a little walk, the garden centre wasn't very inspiring yesterday. There were gaps everywhere, they are still clearing out the Christmas stuff so haven't got much on display. I did find a nice pair of garden gloves, but they hardly warranted taking the car

Nothing much happening today, roast chicken and veg for dinner, vanilla blancmange with lemon and lime jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xx

It is gorgeeous outside, so I braved the cold wind, well wrapped up and toddled down the drive. trusty gardening tools in a bucket, as well as sone string.

Very nifty trick, loop the string around the spikey plants and tighten, It pulls them up and stops me being stabbed

Weeded and put gravel around them all, stripped off jacket and rolled up sleeves, as it got rather warm.

Walked around David and Rita's place, to make sure all is well, after heavy frosts.

Pinched some more gravel - it's leftover from their building works and Rita wanted me to use it up, so that went around another of the plants on the middle drive.

We sat outside, but had to come inside - too hot

Crommers, we are -1C tonight and then 0C for a couple of nights, then we have something like 3's and 4's at night, but 15C plus during the day. Plays havoc with the plants, as it's almost 40C in full sun

Afternoon all - we've just got back from a trip to Seaham, a walk on the beach and along the tops, followed by a breakfast (for Tom) and a pecan tart for me in our favourite cafe Clean Bean, their sourdough bread is gorgeous! Home now and I've just cleaned the main bathroom and stuck a towel wash in. Having major problems with my old energy provider just now (Eon) I will post elsewhere about that.

It's milder and dry here, very pleasant walking along the beach, near to our Tommy (statue), if you Google him, you'll see him. He's one of many by the same artist round about this area.

Tom is full of breakfast still so may not need to cook this evening 8-) - I rarely use my oven these days, we have a halogen oven which is smaller and therefore cheaper to use.

Have a good Sunday - I'll try my best not to get too excited during Happy Valley, as I did last week during the final scenes!!

Crommers he absolutely hates having a bath

Gal those Tommy statues are so moving. We use our Air Fryer a lot instead of the main oven.
