Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 25 Jan 2023, 07:04

Good morning.

Sunny and 16°. It'll be like this for another five days so it's definitely winter.

Off for my walk to end up at the hairdresser at 10am for my monthly snip.

Tonight's dinner is mushroom stroganoff. I've dusted off my Elvis apron.

TV tonight including the excellent Surgeons.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny but cold. The frost is going as the sun hits it.

Off to Ourique to do a mad runaround. Need all sorts doing, then the supermarkets. Pit stop for coffee on the way back..

Will be at the bar this afternoon, hoping that the delivery will arrive, though I have my doubts. They've made no attempt to contact me so far

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Ally & Janb.
There is very fine rain so everything is getting damp. Have been for the paper. Will go out later to have a sheet lamiated. It is a local shop which does a lot
of printing and other functions. Used to have our luggage labels laminated when we went on cruises. They never got damaged in the rain or ripped as the cases were moved.

Today will be tidying up and polishing and dusting. Just been watching the TV when they were discussing how often to change sheets on beds.
I do mine every two to three weeks.

Have a good day everybody.

Every week for me, more in the summer, if we're hot and sweaty.

Morning all, it’s dull and damp here. I’m off to the hairdresser this morning for cut and colour. Otherwise, just stuff around the house and more holiday prep.

Good morning.

I have been out for a paper and dropped MrsC and her sister in Wakefield to do some shopping.

We have had news that the M&S store in Castleford is to close. Such a shame. The town has gone down so much and this is another blow to the town centre.
I don't really understand it, as Cas M&S always seems busy.

We need some meat for a stew so I'll be off to get that this afternoon.

Have a good day all.

Just what I bought this morning Crommers, defo stew weather.

Everything sorted, although it cost us over 20 euros to get things signed at the Junta  quick coffee on the way back and posted a birthday card for grandson.

Still cold, even in the sun

Morning all :D

Dull and cloudy again

Bed change weekly for me too Jan.
The thought of no M&S sounds like a nightmare to me Crommers :o

We're up a bit late, but providing the rain stays away as promised we'll be off out for a walk in about an hour.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon everyone :)

Into town first thing, to meet my friend J for a cuppa, then both Mick and I had lunch up at D's. Zumba tonight.

I wish 16° was winter here too, Al  xx

Hope you got all your bits Jan xx

I have a laminator somewhere Cruiser, I used to laminate my hypnotherapy scripts when I was practising, so they didn't rustle  xx

Is it three more sleeps Osc? :D xx

Crommers I dread the M&S going from Gloucester, it's one of the very few quality shops remaining :? xx

Hope you got your walk Jen xx

Love to all xx

Afternoon all, it’s been a busy week!

Bill had his six monthly eye check up this morning and all looks brilliant, we’re just to continue with the twice daily drop regime he has now. One is a prescription only anti inflammatory (which we can get from Tesco with the vet prescription) and the other just an eye lubricant which I have on a subscribe and save from Amazon. He doesn’t need to go back now until August, thankfully we don’t have the long drive to Leominster. One of the vets from there holds a weekly clinic at a surgery in Dudley which is much better. Seeing as John was off today for the appointment we’ve been into Stafford this afternoon for coffee and cake, Bill came too as he’s allowed in Coffee #1.

We’ve also been measuring up for shutters for the side window and the windows at the back of the house. We were just going to get some decent white wood Venetian blinds but having priced them up and compared the quality and price with the shutters we decided we might as well get shutters instead. John needs to bring the laser measure from work tomorrow so we can get an accurate measurement for each window before ordering them. We’ve been delighted with the ones we’ve bought for the front windows, they’ve really changed the look of each room so I’m looking forward to getting them in the rest of the house, although the company are quoting a 14-18 week manufacturing time

Crommers, M&S closed their Simply Food store in the centre of Lichfield several years ago. They’d planned to relocate into a proposed developement which still hasn’t been built, there wasn’t another suitable larger location available so they pulled out altogether.
Birmingham is getting a new M&S, the current city centre store is relocating to the huge former Debenhams in the Bullring.

Spaghetti carbonara for dinner tonight.
