Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 20 Jan 2023, 06:48

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 19°. 8-)

It's the feast of San Juan today... our local Saint. :D

There will be processions through town, an absolutely enormous paella gets made and stirred by our alcalde (mayor) and the usual madness which makes this such a wonderful place to call home. :cute:

We'll be out from mid afternoon and will meet up with everyone for beers and tapas tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Hoping for a decent result 8-) Out with Mick later.

Good morning all.
We were up early this morning. Our daughter was on a zoom call to Australia at 8am so we were up there to help get Eliza ready for school. (Son in law was in bed after working last night).
It was -1 this morning, very frosty everywhere.
I've driven MrsC into Wakefield to do some shopping. She's also having a coffee and bun whilst she's out, sheer hedonism I call it!
The Rington's man has been and I've paid him for the tea.
There is something I've got to do and I've forgotten what it is, which is annoying.
Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all, it’s a glorious sunny morning but there’s a very heavy frost, white roofs and cars. However, this is meant to be the last of the frosty weather for the time being with temperatures supposed to start going up this evening, heading for the giddy heights of 6 degrees  No golf for Edward, and I’m off to the gym in a while. Just had a nice chat on the phone with my brother who is going to Fuertaventura on Sunday, then we will be gone when he gets back. He really is great, he also has a trip booked to Montenegro in May, he will be 79 in April. Two of his friends are currently in Fuertaventura so he will see them in the evenings, but likes to do his own thing during the day. He has a few health issues but just keeps going. I have bits and pieces to do later on today and we’ll go dancing tonight.

Good for your brother Osc, hope he enjoys Fuertaventura.

We slept in so playing catch up with the washing. Expecting a delivery from Sainsburys this afternoon and that's about as much excitement going on here today.

Hope you all have a good day xx

hello and happy Friday everyone

A tad later in the day that I realised.... dropped the car off for service and MOT this morning and after having the plasterer here Monday and Tuesday and then in the office Wednesday and Thursday I'm sort of trying to catch up with some of the housework; the place is a mess. Today is general tidying in between working but tomorrow I need to give everything a wipe with a damp cloth - that plaster dust is a nightmare :D (I was warned)

Having a sneaky working late lunch with Nadine later today; booked for 3.30 - so trusty laptop will be with me just in case ;-)

Nothing much else to report here, so best crack on with work

hope you all have a lovely day doing all the bits and bobs you're up to xxx Stay warm

Good afternoon everybody.
The frost was not as bad as it has been when I got uptogo for the paper. Still some ice on the car windows but not as heavy as it has been.
Tjhere is a lovely blue sky the snow has gone and it is a lot warmer.
Have been to town to the bank, boughty some fish from the lady who comes with a van. There were at least ten customers behind me waiting to be served.
She does a good trade. mainly pensioners.
Then went and had a pot of tea and a toasted tea cake.
Willbe doing washing this afternoon as the basket is full.

Just ordered a dehumidifier, as we're getting a little damp in the new bedroom. Should be here by early next week.

That's two books done, that's why I gave my eyes a rest and spent money instead
