'Jack Reacher' with Tom Cruise playing Reacher? Nope! A slick film as expected from a Tom Cruise production but it was shallow, boring, had a car chase, lots of guns, no sex. Cruise took his top off, Rosamund Pike was pregnant when they made the film so wore a suit all the way through. No storyline. Could tell the baddies the minute I clapped eyes on them.

I've read a few too Ostrich. Good adventure books with a dashing, mysterious hero. Almost a Bond contender don't you think? I thought they'd make good action films and this first Reacher film, based on the book 'One Shot' by Lee Child, has plenty of action but he isn't Reacher!

It's like Cruise had the money, bought the film rights and made it starring himself as an ego trip thinking he could give Bond a challenge.

Happy for Lee Child though-he's earned it. You'll have to watch the DVD though. Even if you get a grump on
