Grief is a very powerful emotion. We just learned that our summer neighbours across the road lost their daughter to cancer yesterday. Two young teenage children left behind.

My heart goes out to the family of the son and father. I very nearly lost a son to a very real suicide attempt so I know just how it could have been.

Oh jeez Osc, I've gone all cold reading your post. The poor poor wife and daughter - should the worst be realised I really hope there is a lot of support for them because they'll need it. Just how does one ever get over something like this? And you're right Saundra, grief is very powerful.

Just all so heart breaking and makes you realise that you should never take things for granted and to be grateful for what we have

I forgot, there is another son, I think maybe from a previous relationship as he has never lived in the house.

Just awful. To feel so bad that you can't face life anymore.

Ria we're just there to talk and to help if needed. Tragedy strikes at the most inopportune moment and causes so much grief and pain, there is not much you can do from the outside but be available as needed.

Having been through your own family tragedies gives a bit of help in how to just "be there".
