Good Morning Wednesday

Postby JoM » 28 Dec 2022, 06:40

Good morning all, I’m up early as John’s had to go to Sunderland on a site visit.

No plans today apart from a walk over to the post office for a stamp. I’ll probably hoover at some point. Not sure what Tom’s plans are but Joe’s off shopping with Amanda before she starts work.

We left here yesterday at 4.30 and got to our seats at 7.45. The M6 was so slow in places, and we queued for half an hour to get on as we went up to Stoke to avoid the worst of it. The drive back was a whole different story though, the roads around Manchester and the M6 were pretty much deserted and we were back home and sitting down with a cuppa before 11.30.

Have a good day all :D

Morning Jo.

Another 22° forecast. 8-)

After a walk I'm going to just relax and read. It's been such a busy time recently.

TV tonight. :D

Have a great day.

Good morning everybody.
It has started raining. I have been out to bring the wheelie bin back in. The local council sent an email to say they would be emptying the bins on the
normal day over the Christmas period. This morning it has been the brown bin for glass and plastic bottles.
Will finish puting names and addressess in a new book I bought before Christmas. Several changes in the old one with crossings out and scribbles.

Then just pootling.
Have a good day everybody.

Good morning everyone :)

I think we'll have a lazy one too, Ally! So much travelling yesterday, and hours spent in traffic  It was lovely to see my sister though, and then my Harry :D :D xx

Jo, sounds like the roads were bad everywhere - only to be expected I suppose xx

I have a new address book too, Cruiser. I really must fill it in  xx

Going to make us some breakfast in a minute, I have bacon and some part-baked baguettes. No doubt the smell of bacon will wake Becky  She had a nice Christmas at her dad's, although the plans to go to Martin's family on the day had to be shelved when his stepmum and sister went down with the flu on Christmas Eve! So Becky and her dad cooked chicken and the trimmings instead.

We'll nip out later to Sainsbury's for milk and bread and call in on D.

Have a good day :) xxx

Morning everyone

Little mist in the valleys and it feels cold out there, but the sun is out and should be another rather warm day.

A lazy day for us too. No idea what we'll be doing. Might do a bit more weeding, but I do get fed up with it

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

I’d love your 22° Al! Grim best describes the weather here but at least Bill had his walk at 6.45 before it got any worse.

Kaz, glad to hear that you had a good trip!

It’s bin day here too Cruiser, we’re a day behind this week but back to normal next.

A lazy day sounds like an idea, Jan. I’ve remembered that I haven’t watched any TV apart from the Two Doors Down special (which was so good!) so I think I’ll have a TV catch up later.

hello all and good morning and very belated Season's Greetings wishes - definitely too late for Christmas (so sorry). Five days in Germany nonstop surrounded by family meant very little phone / tech time which was lovely - too much proper talking going on :D

We had the most amazing time in Germany. Left 3.45am on Thursday morning and made good time and got to our destination just after 1pm our time; a quick change and freshen up and we headed over to my brother's (Frank and his partner Angelika) place where we met up with my mom, my brother (Klaus) that was over from South Africa and my sister (Anne) who was came up from South Germany. Us five siblings and mom were last together back in 2019 so it's been a good few years - yet it felt like we saw each other just yesterday. Lots of laughter and giggles and just loud - but so so good!

Friday morning Anne made her way back home to South Germany and Klaus left that afternoon to go to Amsterdam where his daughter lives and he got to meet his new granddaughter Lily, born June this year. We all just spent the day pootling about and sorting final shopping for the next few days. Saturday (our Christmas) we had a lazy morning then headed over to mom's for coffee / cake and gift giving for mom and the kids and then back to Frank and Angelika's place for a very informal and totally Christmas dinner.

Sunday was another lazy day spent eating; drinking and playing games. Mom was meant to spend part of Christmas day with us, but the previous days were just too much for her so she asked to be left home alone and sadly Monday morning she asked the same again (she was meant to come over for dinner); so Karl, Nadine and kids went over to her to say good bye in person an I said my goodbye's over the phone.

All in all that was five days of total overindulgence, laughter and just fun - the time just flew by.

We left Germany 9am yesterday, made really good time to Calais to catch the Eurotunnel train but unfortunately delays earlier in the day meant a two hour wait for us - but that's just to be expected these days unfortunately.

But here we are, all back in the UK; a few more days of overindulging (because, hey why not?  ) and then January it's time to a few lifestyle adjustments

I'm meant to be working the next few days, but it's quiet so thankfully not too much to do. Have to fit in a shop because the fridge is bare; pick up my stuff from Karl and Nadine (saved having to unpack half the car yesterday to get at my stuff) and then vet appointment this afternoon - so basically back to the usual / usual for me :D

Hope you all have a lovely day today

x
