Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 13 Nov 2022, 07:00

Good morning.

Sunny and forecast 25°. 8-)

Our quilt is still waiting to go on the bed. It's so incredibly warm at night still. I can't see it going on before I go to the UK. :o

A quick run then back to get ready to go to Cartama market.
They always have funky little dresses for sale (like I need any more! ) and there's a great wee place that does the best bacon and cheese pitufos. :D

We've got roast chicken and salad for dinner tonight with SCD results and SAS heroes. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny and warm, only 22C for us.

Rubbish night again, with the dogs barking off and on all night. Quiet now, although they'll start again soon, as the hunters are out. Rang the police at 2.45am and they're coming up today.

But I won't be here

I'm off on a jolly with the girls. Well, "girls" as none of us are under 60  Jan has one of her sisters and a friend here from the UK, so we're going down to Portimao for the market there, as well as Chris and Lucy. Should be a fun day :Hi:

It's only 20C in the Algarve today

Back to have the curry we didn't have last night

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, I’m absolutely wrecked after last night! We danced almost non-stop for three hours, and by the time we got home, had a cuppa, I soaked my feet in cold water, took off my makeup and got to bed, it was 2.15….waaaay past our bedtime! We had a brilliant time, the food was standard fare and service was not good, but once the dancing started we just had so much fun. We had a great table and there was plenty of banter and lots of laughter. Today we will be doing absolutely nothing!!

We had a lovely walk yesterday, didn't realise we'd not been down there for almost 3 weeks :o

A lazy day today, roast chicken with veg for dinner, vanllla blancmange with lemon and lime jelly for pud. Strictly and Sleb this evening.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Good afternoon all.
Though looking outside it looks more like midnight.
A foul day here now, damp and cold and misty - proper bronchitis wather.
MrsC and her sister went to the Remembrance Sunday service in Streethouse; there must have been nearly 200 people there.
On the War Memorial for the 1st World War there are the names of 37 men who died. I know people had bigger families back then but for a tiny pit village that's an awful lot of dead men. One of MrsC's great uncles is one of them.
We've had a big Sunday dinner today with all the family plus crackpot dog; very socialable. it's always nice to have them round.
Ally and Jan I hope you had a lovely day's shopping and Osc, you stopout you!
Enjoy the rest of the day everyone.

Afternoon everyone :)

We were out for breakfast fairly early. By the time we left the Quays, after walking the pooch, the Christmas Market was in full swing 8-) The ice rink opens on the 24th :) Round to D's afterwards, swept up some leaves, then were rewarded with a nice slice of homemade lemon drizzle :D I had my booster jab this afternoon, feeling fine so far. Mick has gone to the gym, and there's a chicken casserole for dinner, cooked in the slow-cooker :)

Crommers that's an awful lot of men from one small village - devastating :(

Love to all xxx

A long long day

Portimao is about an hour and a half away, mostly motorway, once were down to the Algarve.

But the market  Ansolute rubbish, Most disappointed. Been years since Jan had been and it's rather changed   A lot of stalls with all the same boots, trainers, socks etc.

But she gave us a nice tour of the area, changed a lot since I was there last and we went to Praia de Rocha for lunch, Also changed a huge amount since I was last there. So many huge blocks of apartments, up to 18 storeys high  Not my idea of a holiday destination, but people were out sunbathing on the beach and even in the sea 8-)

It rained a little when we were in the Chinese buffet place for lunch - absolutely stuffed, we were  The trick was to order a few dishes, no more than three, eat them, order the next lot, and so on. We were there for a couple of hours

Back to the peace and quiet of the Alentejo now 8-)

And a very small curry and rice for me tonight
