A huge amount! It was a really central location, and roomy for a holiday let. Got a bit noisy in the evenings though - there's a pub next door, and another just across the street.
Just noticed that photo no 3 on there shows the South Sands ferry We were the only passengers on there yesterday, and blimey the sea was rough! We were bobbing about like nobody's business! Clambering off of it and onto the sea tractor when we got back to S Sands was a bit hairy
Given the location and view, I wouldn't quibble too much about the price, TBH. Interesting about the pub nuisance though, not sure I'd want to make it a permanent residence ....
Our neighbours have just become second home owners in Cornwall (which I must admit annoys me a bit, I have a Cornish friend who’s lived in St Ives all of his life and I know from him how much people are struggling to find affordable homes). They had a VW van, one of these new ones all converted for traveling, and it was cheaper to buy this house and pay a mortgage than it was to pay the PCP finance on the camper van - it was over £800 per month!
I must admit Jo, I have similar misgivings about second homes. In Salcombe last year a small house was on sale for local people only, and I think there's some merit in that.
