I thought it was superb. The news that there will be another series is fantastic. This will be based on how the community get over the trauma.

Ten million viewers can't be wrong!

Ten million viewers aren't wrong Rodo-after all, I was one of them and one of quite a few who didn't enjoy it.

Twenty years ago in 'Broadchurch' a young girl went missing and eventually her body was found in some nearby woods. The girl was a Down's Syndrome teenager. Her parents owned a gift shop in town so were well known locally. The police spent months investigating how and why she died. Their questioning led to them wanting to interview a young man wearing a fawn sweater who was seen near her home on the day she vanished. Dozens of young men matching this description were called in for police interviews, there was a lot of gossip, a lot of finger pointing. It was horrible. One young man couldn't stand the suspicion and he hung himself. He was already a troubled man but this pushed him over the edge.

In the end, the person responsible for her death wasn't local.

So I watched it knowing how it is to live in this small community with a cloud of mistrust hovering over everyone and thought they portrayed this well, but not well enough to keep me interested.
