Imo it will get nasty. The Majors, Heseltines and May will want their type of person in and present the membership with a fait accompli, others will resist.

The man with a millionaire wife and a questionable tax record and one who deliberately tried to topple the PM. If he gets 20% of the vote I'll be surprised.

If there was one good thing Boris did before he left it was to sack Gove

I'm not sure that Sunak will be a shoo-in by any means - he is not one of the "cut taxes at all costs" brigade, and this is where I think the Tory Party are most likely to come apart at the seams.

I think he has been a good, steady Chancellor, and I would ideally like to see him continue in that role, with an entirely fresh face as Prime Minister.

The other sticking point within the Tory Party is going to be the continuing fracas over Brexit. Personally, I don't trust the Weasels in Brussels and their talk of a "reset of relations", although I can see that a softer stance from the UK would appeal to many, both sides of the Channel, and I would like to see a more co-operational and pragmatic approach to the current problems, especially over NI. But Truss is hard-line, and so is Braverman, and I certainly would not want to see the former as PM. I don't know where Tugendhat stands on the EU, but I note he does have dual British/French nationality, and his FiL is a French diplomat .....

Breaking news: there is a flood alert near to Conservative Central Office in London. Local drains cannot cope with the deluge of salty tears.

They think that now they have got rid of Boris their troubles are over.
Imo they've only just begun.

OK, so who will calm things down, get a grip, make things work for us all, bring everyone together?

Go on you Con super supporters, give us a clue. Risky Sunhat, The Truss or any of the other second rate contenders?

The country, us, you and me, are held hostage to these artificially entitled ones. We need better.
