I’ve just finished April in Spain by John Banville. I met the author outside the local chemist yesterday (he lives locally), told him how much I had enjoyed the book, discussed his bringing together of characters from other books. One of his characters was the subject of a tv series called Quirke with Gabriel Byrne playing the main part. In case you haven’t heard of John Banville, here’s a little info.
