Put my shoulder out at rugger, it went back but was not right for ages, but the worst was spilling hot sulphuric acid down my arm. It took the skin off my whole forearm and was bandaged for months.

When Mick was a toddler he pulled a hot iron down onto his arm - it still has a huge flash of scar tissue on it and doesn't tan when the rest of his arm does :?

He has a heap of old rugby scars and injuries but they aren't childhood ones - apparently :P ;)

That has just reminded me about my friend and the mangle! We were playing at her nans house with her cousin and we were putting things through the mangle. I don't remember who's idea it was to put her cousins arm through the mangle but it was rather fortunate that the cottage hospital was practically next door as even her ear piercing screams didn't make us stop winding it.

:? :? :?

Oh   Debih, I know I shouldn't laugh, but I did - also at Di's cousin

I was obviously very refined and ladylike throughout my childhood, as I never broke a bone in my body until I was 57!! I did crack open my chin while swinging on the coat hangers at school, you swung to work up momentum and then turned right over, only I misjudged and landed on my chin. Of course the coat hanger swinging was forbidden, and as a punishment, the nun put a bandage around my chin and up to the top of my head, tying it in a large bow at the top of my head, before sending me to the local doctor along the school avenue which was full of people coming into school - I looked a bit of a prat! They also sent home a sternly worded letter to my parents, don't suppose that would happen nowadays. It was the day before my 9th birthday. The doctor was old style and merely pulled the edges of the wound together and put a plaster on it, it healed fine with no stitches although I still have the scar. I also have some grit visible in my knee from when I fell off the back of my friend's bike.

Mr. Osc was quite the daredevil and has a myriad of scars! I had no bike or roller skates (we lived in a very hilly place, and my parents felt I wouldn't get the use from them).

Where do I start?

At 3, did a handstand on the windowsill multiple times, before slipping and gashed my head open at the temple on said windowsill. I fortunately didn't put my head though the window that time. Had to get stitches for that one.

Tried to stop a speeding go cart I was travelling on the back of with my foot. Still have that scar.

Fell on freshly laid stoney asphalt after falling off a fence. I still remember the pain as my nearly blind mother ran her fingers over the very large and deep graze feeling for anymore little stones to come out.

Then I got older and things got more serious. I cracked the capsule in my elbow that holds the lubricating juices for the joint after freaking out in the middle of a basic aeroplane on the trampoline at gym. That had me in a sling for several weeks.

Injured my tailbone after doing a back somersault off the double Minni tramp, and completely missed the crash mat, and landed flat on my bum on the concrete floor. Couldn't sit comfortably for 2 years after that.

Tripped up at the top of a flight of stairs while playing spotlight at school camp. Went sailing down said stairs and landed on my chin on the concrete below. More stitches required.

Too many sprained ankles to mention on both sides. But one time on particular I was playing indoor netball and sprained on really badly. I still think it was broken, as it was too sore to but any weight on for almost 2 months. The first month I couldn't even hang it down below knee height. I strapped my ankle for 3 years after that, waiting for the ligaments to naturally shorten, avoiding what i believe would have lead to surgery as I was able to easily pop my ankle in and out after that. Now, no problems there at all.

Just childhood right? I'll stop there. I think that covers the main things.

My accident happened when i was 10 yrs old

The junior school had just broken up for the six weeks summer break and in the September i was going to secondary school.
So that Friday evening me and a few friends were playing outside (unsupervized- YES we DID use to do that!!) generally mucking about playing chase and other such games , anyway i fell off the bike shed roof and broke my arm , i remeber standing up and looking down at this thing just hanging there , i could not feel it at al.

Dad rushed me up the hospital , but not til he had eaten his tea so i just sat at the table waiting , swinging me arm :?

So got to hospital x-ray revealed a chipped bit so i had to have a pin put in it.

3 weeks later we go on holiday to the south coast (we were living in London then)

Why we were away my mum kept saying there was a funny smell in the caravan , it wasn't til we got back she realised it was coming from my arm , so off to the hospital we go.

Lucky we did as gangrene was just about to take hold and i wudda lost the arm for good.

Anyway , i now have a huge scar on my elbow (which when i was younger i thought was cool 8-) )
And i cant touch my left ear with my left hand , but apart from that i learned something ---

NEVER CLIMB ONTO A SHED ROOF :D :D
