Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 03 Jun 2022, 04:55

Good morning.

Very hot and sunny. 8-)

Day off from pounding the streets. A swim will suffice.

Facetiming Craig later as the birthday boy is 37 today.
Impossible as I'm only that age myself.

Jacob's coming over late morning, Conor's arriving around 4pm and we're going out for a drink.
They'll shoot off tonight to a party and we'll hook up with our Friday beers and tapas gang. :D

The twins are both stopping over but I won't see them till tomorrow morning.

Have a great day.

Bon voyage Osc and have a great holiday. X

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely and cool this morning and not a breath of wind :Hi: Warming up to proper temperatures from next week 8-)

Cleaning this morning, then heading outside for a tidy up. We have visitors on Sunday and as they've not been here before, want to make the outside look a little smarter.

Safe travels to Osc and Mr Osc, hope the airport chaos isn't too bad and the onward journey goes smoothly.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

I'm about to head to the allotment, just want to get in a few more hours clearing / weeding. And then back home to do a bit of tidying and planting in the garden. Meeting up with friends this evening.

Have a fab day everyone x

Morning all, it’s a sunny one here.

Started to day with a long walk with Bill and John, the Tesco order has arrived and been put away and all that’s left to do is take the shopping around that my parents wanted. Joe’s just left to pick up Amanda and then he’s back to pack a few things in a bag and then they’re off to a festival in Leeds, think they’re stopping in Wakefield tonight and tomorrow.

We’ll be glad of a quieter day. Joe came in at 11pm on Wednesday and announced that he’d seen a car he liked at Available Cars (3 miles away) so would we go with him to look at it yesterday morning. It was a rush beforehand, walking Bill and doing his drops, but we were there just after they opened and the car he was interested in was already reserved so we had a look around and he found a better one anyway. He then had to get a valuation on his car, have a test drive, sort out buying it…and by the time we were home it was 2pm. We had to have something to eat, I still had my hair to wash and dry and we needed to be out by 3 because we’d been invited over to Ashbourne by Shannon’s parents for a barbecue and it’s over an hour away. It was lovely to see them though, Joe and Amanda were there too and Bill was also invited so he enjoyed exploring their garden. We didn’t get home until almost Midnight.

Happy Birthday to Craig! It’s Shannon’s birthday today too, she’s 25.

Have a good day all :D

Good afternoon everyone, it's been a lovely day here so far.
Happy birthday to Craig and safe travels to the Oscs.
Jo, that sounds like a full day!
MrsC has been baking today, the house smells wonderful.
Son played a gig at Harlow Carr gardens yesterday, it went very well.
Today he is going to a friend's kind of wedding do; the original fell victim to Covid.
Enjoy the tall ships Kaz.
Have a great day everyone.

Good afternoon, all. :D

We decided to dip out of the Beacon Lighting up at the Leisure Centre last night in favour of watching it all on BBC1
Master O attended the one in Eastbourne which he described as "underwhelming" - apparently they couldn't get it lit.

This morning we walked down the town for the Civic Parade from the Town Hall to the Church for a short commemorative service. They had a good turnout lining the way, about 1,000 folk I guess, not bad out of a population of 12,000.
We holed up in the Slade Centre Café before the start for coffee and cake (one slice chocolate for Mrs O and one slice carrot for the Ostrich, £11.50 the lot - I know the footballing aficionados on this forum like details! :P ).
We then stood outside the Red Lion for the Parade, led by the Town Silver band, then the Town Cryer and Mayoress, local dignatories and names, two detachments of Dorset Army Cadets, veterans, Sea Scouts, common or garden Scouts, Brownies and Rainbow tots at the rear. All very jolly in the warm sunshine.
After the excitement I headed over the bridge to Waitrose, where 2 Baking Spuds set me back £1 - you used to be able to get 4 for that price.

Now, we've just had thunder and it's bucketing ......

Hope everyone's days are going well!
