We're going to condemn the partying and heavy drinking now?

Might as well close government now because that's about 90% of them stuffed.

Honestly, this entire situation is stratified. On one side the finger wagging and "you should have been better". On the other side "Whatever, we've MUCH bigger fish to fry".

It isn't going to change so it is not worth worrying about. However, 2 years from now, when it comes to election time, those who are heartily sick and tired of this hardcore attempt to unseat a sitting PM are going to vote.

Then we will see just how successful this massive attempt was. Because Bojo is going nowhere and, still, nobody wants his job. First we had Brexit. Nobody really wanted that or Bojo would not be there. Then we had Brexit and Covid. Nobody wanted to get within 10 feet of that. Now we have fading Covid and an economic recession driven by the expenditure needed to counteract the impact of Covid and Russia on tour throwing a major war. Nobody wants anything to do with that.

All that will be remembered, come 2 years from now, is the increasingly strident shrieking that Bojo still hasn't Gone. Of course he hasn't gone. Because taking his seat is a 1 way trip to Oblivion, even for Starmer.

Oh I'm sure the plotters were all set, Covid on the wane, economy ticking up, get to the starting blocks and leak enough info so that Bojo has nowhere to turn.

Then Russia throws a war. Now we've got an international crisis and Bojo is not too bad at that. But it's all in place, everyone ready, leaks done, press on a roll. Only to find that all the runners have left the track and changed into casual clothes and are in the stand watching an empty track.

No Sympathy.

Bless.

Nice try.

Your man broke the law, it has been proved, he is a criminal. Accept it.

He did not challenge the FPN, Had he done so he would have lost and got a criminal record - end of his PMship.

The country would be better without him.

The country would be better without a lot of people. Him too, maybe. Who would you replace him with?

The country would also be one hell of a lot Worse with some of the yahoos who might take his place.

Plenty of people broke the law including his opposite number. Don't let the lack of a prosecution justify that stance.

What is going on imo is a reflection of what happened to Trump in America.
The broadcast media have decided that they want Johnson out and to achieve that it's going to be 24/7 negativity towards him.
When partygate finishes (if it ever does) something else will replace it.
Johnson doesn't seem to have twigged this yet.

He knows. But to respond it simply way too much.

Nobody wants the crises (multiple) going on right now. Nobody wants to be at the helm when the Tories hit the buffers at 14 years. Because whoever is at the helm at that time is going down. Witness IDS and Hague. You are the leader of the Tories and you lose an election; you are ejected from the role.

So Boris will continue to say "I'm not going", some MP's who are at risk for the next election will make noise and the internal Tory party will keep the MP's in line for the next 2.5 years.
