In the last day of campaigning for the first round Macron

Postby Suff » 09 Apr 2022, 21:01

Calls the Polish PM a far right anti semite in response to the Polish PM saying that Macron's constant dialogue with Putin is as fruitful as the dialogue with Hitler was before and during WW2.

Poland summoned the French ambassador to explain this mode of communicating with another country.

Macron, of course, the arch Europhile, clearly has inside information on how this will help intra EU solidatiry.

The French, on the other hand, are now free to vote for Macron, or not, knowing that he is a Woke Snowflake.

If there was one other thing he could have done to make this race closer I don't know what it is.

He's an arrogant man for sure. He's the one who stated that he was going to rule in a "Jupiterian" manner.
I think he'll just win nevertheless, but I detect a distinct lack of enthusiasm for Macron. It will probably be a low turnout Suff?

Agreed, Kaz.

I don't like Macron as a politician, but I'd rather see him returned to power than Le Pen. Europe needs as much stability as it can get at this time, and that's not Le Pen.

Agree with you both, but I am minded that Macron has Putin's ear. He is the one conduit we have to tell Putin truths that his generals and advisors are too scared to tell him. He is not likely to be tuning in to the BBC, Fox or CNN for his war news.

It was looking like a low turnout cromwell. Until Le Pen abandoned Paris and started engaging in the country at the 18-24 group.

She got a lot of traction.

Our close friend locally said it best. I am so angry with Macron I cannot vote for him in the first round. But I will never vote for Le Pen.

It is a very odd election here in France. Macron, the incumbent with his hand on the money taps and forcing prices up on fuel and daily necessities, is trying to paint Le Pen as this far right monster. Le Pen is talking about social justice for all and an end to the business/industry gaining from the plight of the common people. About removing poverty and putting the "people" at the centre of policies and not "interests".

Of course nobody ever really remembers that NAZI stands for National Socialist. The "socialists" have tried to bury that one deep.

Nor that even though France has a Moslem population of 11m, out of 60m, they are not the majority or even near. So the RN party are talking about common policies for the common people. Not woke edge cases for the minority which everyone gets to pay for.

Hence the outpouring of "hate" to Le Pen from the liberal elite.

There are less than 5% between Le Pen and Macron this time. It will be interesting to see where the Gilets Jeaunes position themselves in the next round. If they stand against Macron the result could be momentous. These are exactly the people that Le Pen is reaching out to.

Macron is talking Putin and Ukraine and the influence of the far right, whilst inflation is soaring, wages are stagnant and people trying to get to work and eat and make ends meet and are finding it harder and harder.

Sounds like they will vote for him in the second round then; and then spend the next five years complaining about him.
