Well I have almost finished the dress, but I'm not that happy with the fit. I think I may be too busty for the style of the bodice, so I will need to alter it...I may be some time
It has princess seams, so I will probably have to take to bodice apart. I have found this info online http://www.learning-alterations.com/princess-seams.html so that will be helpful...if tricky

Ooh good luck! I have that problem with dresses sometimes, if they fit on the bust they are too big everywhere else!

If I was clever I would have made the alterations before sewing the dress. But I'm not, so I didn't

Thats always my problem too, and I certainly couldn't wear a high waisted dress like those, but you always look lovely in whatever I have seen you in Loz

Oh dear Loz, I suppose all those instructions to first make something from an old sheet or something are sensible, but I've never done that either

I did think about making a toile (or whatever it's called) but thought, naaaaa
Shell, this dress is not high waisted, it sits on the natural waistline. The problem is the bodice...and the yoke. I will see it as a learning opportunity (It looks lovely on my dummy).

I never buy a frock with a seam at the waist Loz. I don't have a full bust but a seperate bodice sewn onto the skirt at the waist makes me feel too busty. The tea dress pattern looks like there's a seam joining the two. Dresses feel and look better on me if they are cut in one piece, shaped over the bust and waist and either fitted over the hip and straight, or cut on a bias or slight fullness with panels which you'd need for dancing. No gathers!

I have a few 'wrap style' and find them best for me
