Help me please.

Postby Aggers » 18 Apr 2013, 11:09

I've been trying for an hour to buy Kindle books. I've signed in and entered all my debit card details alright.

The trouble is I cannot see how to add books to my shopping basket. I just shows EMPTY. Nowhere can I see
anything to click saying 'add to basket'.

It's driving me mad.

Any ideas ?

You can't add them to the basket Aggers, you have to select the "Buy Now With 1-Click" option on the right of the page.

I was just going to tell you the same Aggers.

It really annoys me. I like to put things in my basket that I fancy and then at the end either buy them or save them for later.

I tend to now use Amazon less and less because of this!

Yes, I prefer to add things to the basket too Deb. It's all too easy to click and buy.

Thanks, ladies.

I've found that the problem was that I was not clicking on the little circle against the type of payment card I was using.

Now they tell me that the pre-paid debit card I have taken out for use on the Internet has not net been verified.

Oh well.

That's a shame Aggers, will it take long to verify?
You still won't be able to add Kindle books to your basket though, they'll still have to be bought by One-Click.

If your card's not verified before you go away still take your Kindle with you as when it is you'll be able to buy and download your books from Amazon via a wi-fi hotspot in a cafe, bar, hotel.

Verifying isn't the same as validating is it?

I don't know. I'm not sure now which word they used. I transferred money into my new Master Card at my bank yesterday morning, and they told me that the transfer woukl take about two hours. Maybe it takes longer. I'll try again later today.

Interesting I've never had to verify any cards with Amazon before. Paypal, yes, but not Amazon.

I couldn't find it on their payments help either. Bank accounts they have to have verified, but they don't say anything about it for cards.

Normally verification involves a small payment and entering a number which is in the statement. I had to do this when I added my cashplus card to my paypal. fortunately cashplus shows transactions pending almost immediately so it didn't take long.

I've never looked as Amazon with my kindle so I've never seen how good or bad it is..... Probably never will....
