Why dont they want them vaccinated? We vaccinate them for everything else? I wouldn't argue with a parent, I am lucky enough not to have to worry about it, but just wondered what the reasons are for not vaccinating?

I think because healthy children aren't at risk from Covid, so why get vaccinated against something that isn't going to harm you?
Plus some medical staff have on the quiet advised parents to hang fire.

Most people, don't want younger children jabbed because of the rushed and emergency nature of the vaccine.

It will be years before it gains full certification and becomes normal for all ages. By which time it will hardly be relevant.

It wasn't so much a case of brushing it off mm. It is more a case that nasty colds and viruses are "normal" and so do not get the care and concern that a virus which is a global pandemic and has killed 5.5 million people world wide does.

Living with this kind of virus is horrible and in a pandemic nobody cares because being ill is nothing compared to being infected by a global killer.

Hence my question about whether Omicron wasn't an opportunity to get this thing ended so we have time fore those who are suffering from other things.

The early 30's daughter of our neighbour across the road here in France has just been diagnosed with serious lung cancer that they can't operate on until they have shrunk the tumour off the nerve cluster.

She has 3 children. They missed it because of Covid!

Who knows?

Some of them are crackpot conspiracy theorists, others are extremely vacant headed wannanoteabees. "Look at me, I'm scared!" Bless.

Vaccines: Covid, their clinical discoveries, dna sequencing / splicing etc. and production methods were at the cutting edge of what once could be done; my son was involved in some of that. Their approval and production was accelerated well beyond what had gone before: true. Producers were exempt from prosecution if things went wrong: true. Those are justifiable concerns. It is totally understandable that some of us are not convinced by them.

At least we are free to choose.

Some of us more level headed people just don't seem to be as terror or panic stricken as others and don't let the media and government wonks get to us. We stay calm and carry on. Try it.

I don't say that these vaccines can't be given to younger children, but I understand those with a concern and why.

8 do, however, refuse to live in fear.

May I ask?

How many of you are genuinely terrorised, panicked and driven mentally ill by what is going on at present with vaccines and restrictions? So many of you say that you are.

I keep seeing the claims, but with little evidence.

Why are you peeps not jumping off tall buildings and bridges in droves by being so scared? Could things not be as you make them out to be?

Asking for a friend...

I think you're confusing fear with anger and frustration.

Sorry, but I am seeing the evidence, WM. I was only discussing this with both Mrs O and a former work colleague today.

There have been noticeable changes in the microcosm of "society" in our street since the advent of Covid. People are not coming out of the house, chatting, interacting like they would have done before the pandemic, even with the easing of restrictions. People are now so introverted that they barely acknowledge each other. It's been quite a sea-change over the last two years and I believe it is indicative of a deterioration in people's general mental health. A combination of fear, anger and frustration has caused this.

I am certainly getting concerned for one of our neighbours.

Maybe it's not like that in your neighbourhood. It would be interesting to know other's experiences ....

I see fear every day. People walking, on their own, in the open air, nobody around them, wearing a masm. Also people on their own in a car, wearing a mask.

This is fear, lack of knowledge and downright stupid too.

What little protection you get from a mask is degraded the longer you wear it.

Fear, every day.

Fortunately our circle of French friends refuse the fear. Yes we tested at NY, but it was hugs and kisses all round. At least 25 of us from 11 different families.

People on their own, rejecting interaction, scared to socialise.

FEAR.

I think the pandemic has amplified the characteristics of some. Stubborn people are more stubborn. Timid people more timid.
Down our street? Barbara. VERY stubborn. Last Saturday she went to Otley, on public transport. Freezing day, it would have taken her hours to get there with at least two stops to change bus. She has been doing type of thing throughout Covid, throughout lockdown, even after her knee replacement. She won't let anything stop her.
The daughter of one of our neighbours. Comes to see her father but stands outside the house - she won't go in. Terribly nervous.

Fear is everywhere, I would say. Today an elderly couple came out of Sainsbury's masked up, got into their car still masked up and drove away still masked up. Do they wear a mask in their own house? Throughout the pandemic I've seen people walking on their own, outside with not another human being in sight, wearing a mask.

The government have deliberately gone out of their way to put people in fear, with blood curdling forecasts of deaths that never came true, po-faced "experts" whose every prediction was always the worst case scenario.

Interestingly for the first time I can remember a member of the MSM, Kay Burley, asked the weasel Michael Gove about government scaremongering, which he denied had happened - liar.

Here's a pdf viewing of minutes from the government's "nudge unit" meeting of 20th March 2020.. The quote about people not being scared enough is at the bottom of page 1, under the heading Persuasion.
https://assets.publishing.service.gov.u ... 032020.pdf

Our own government set out deliberately to scare the population into compliance with their orders; and they succeeded.
