You do right Jo because if you do offer them for free they will always expect them for free, and you've paid a lot of money for those tickets.

Just tell him that you have been offered a decent amount for 'any' tickets on the club website and that it will go well towards next year's season ticket, but, you know...... Leave it up to him, Jo, otherwise you'll have an "Oliver" over the road: "please miss."

Just tell him how much they are and then its up to him, but personally I like the idea of selling on a forum. Then its to people who care enough to join and not just a 'oh I occasionally support Man Utd, especially when I think there's a cheapy to be had' person

£74 is a lot of money, Jo, I certainly wouldn't part with tickets to that value for free to a stranger.

No Xmas football for the Bird. Way too full of turkey and stuffing to move outside the Nest!

Local matches resume next Saturday, 8th January, all being well. Ossie's forward planning of games at the moment is somewhat hindered by the fact that the Yeovil & District League's Secretary hasn't issued any fixtures beyond 15th ..

You made the right decision not to go, Jo.
United were awful tonight.

I’ve had an email off the bloke who bought the tickets this morning, jokingly asking for a refund  He then went on to say that despite everything he enjoyed being back, he’s been living overseas for 20 years, has just moved back and that was his first game since moving away and his daughter’s first game ever, and has asked if we’d give him first refusal if we want to sell our tickets in the future.

Is that usual that fixtures aren’t announced very far in advance at this time of year Ossie (weather related?) or is it in case teams are having to isolate?

It does very much depend on the League Fixture Secretaries, who plan the fixtures grid and upload onto the FA FullTime website, Jo. Down at non-league levels, there's a lot to contend with - no floodlights so no rescheduling of fixtures midweek, basic grounds prone to waterlogging or freezing so many more postponements, the shoehorning in of both League and County Cup ties into the mix .....

That said, usually the fixtures up to Christmas get released at the start of the season, and the remainder in December. This year it's been much more month by month. Covid has played a big part and it's all a bit on the hoof at the moment.

It's sort of:
On the Saturday, Martock are scheduled to play Odcombe, and Ilchester to play Bruton,
.... but Odcombe tell you on Thursday night they can't raise a team because of Covid, and it's well known that Ilchester's pitch is long-term waterlogged and they can't afford to hire a 3G,
.... so on the Friday, can we arrange for Martock to play at Bruton, or Bruton to play at Martock, with all the necessary phoning around, arranging ground preparation and sorting out referees, etc.?
.... which also means that the two original fixtures have to be pencilled in for later in the season, and the new "emergency" fixture removed from whenever it was planned in the subsequent fixture list!

Multiply that one scenario by, say, three other pairs of fixtures in the division, and you might as well rip up everything you've planned and start again!
A thankless job. You don't have that problem in the Premiership ...

That said, the Yeovil & District League seem to be uploading fixtures up to Feb 2nd. as we speak! :D

No football for Ossie yesterday :) . It was bucketing with rain around mid-day here, and around 80% of local matches were called off due to the weather, including my preference of Milborne Port v Bournemouth Electric, so, if I can pinch that well known soccer saying: "We go again next week ...."

It was very soggy here in the West, wasn't it? Believe it or not the kids league games on the playing fields opposite us still went ahead yesterday  Talk about a mud bath, and it certainly does the pitch no good at all! :cute:

All the games at the local YMCA and Bedquilts pitches seem to be ad hoc jobs and there are very few of them. I don't know why they don't just cancel the league for this year and play whatever matches that can be arranged as 'friendlies' and have done with it.
