Happy New Year everyone.

I awoke this morning to some sad news. My little old lady, Zoe, passed away at 8 am. I will be going round to see two of her daughters later on.

The weather is quite pleasant with broken clouds and a light breeze so I will probably go for a quiet walk on my way home.

Wishing you all the very best for 2022.

The sun's shining, a lovely start to 2022 :D

You were an early bird Cruiser.
Glad you had a good party Ally.
Love the sound of John's fry up Jo.
How long must you isolate Jan?
Glad Fraggle wasn't upset by the fireworks Kaz.
Agree with Crommers, have another Bailey's Saundra ;)
Mincemeat swirls sound lovely Osc.
Enjoy your walk Crommers.
Sad news about your old lady WM x

We saw the new year in with bubbly, didn't get to bed until 1.30ish. No surprise it was nearly 11 before we got up this morning  We're having a nice easy day, not much cooking, I bought a large M&S cottage pie to have with peas for today's dinner later. No doubt another bottle of bubbly will help wash it down

Hope you all a good day and wishing you a happy, healthy New Year xx

Happy New Year to everyone! Unlike previous years, there was a very muted response to midnight in the neighbourhood, just a couple of distant bangs and no visible fireworks at all.

Miserable weather here, in contrast to those further north; it's dull, dank, dreary and rather wet. :o
It really is hibernation weather, and has been since Xmas, but courtesy of Master O who set it up, we had a book delivery from Amazon last week, so that will keep us well entertained for a while! :D

We're being over cautious Jen. He only tested positive yesterday and we last saw him a week yesterday. Because he's in the hotel business, he has a test three times a week, and the first one was negative, so we're hoping we're okay.

But I have a hospital appointment on Monday and I'm going to that. Mask will be worn anyway and I'll just sanitize as much as I normally do. If I cancel, I'll have to cancel seeing the surgeon the following week too.

We should be okay by Wednesday.

My son in law has had two Pfizer shots and one booster on Christmas Eve. My daughter has had no vaccinations at all.
And they have both tested positive for Covid today.
We were out with them for a pub lunch on Thursday.
Hmmm.
They were also round here for Christmas dinner. I wonder if that is what was wrong with Eliza? She was a bit off it on Christmas day.

Happy New Year everyone. WM sad to hear about Zoe. Not an auspicious start to the year.

We were at a French NY party last night, everyone tested before coming and nobody had it.

We carry on as ever.

Hope the year is a positive and prosperous one for everyone.
