Jo, personally I'd be reading Joe the riot act. Seriously ask him to move out for a few weeks and see just how he gets on and maybe he'll start appreciating just how good he has it.

And I'd stop picking up after him. If he's home to work then he can do it from his bedroom and any mess he makes is his problem. Don't go in to pick up after him.... at this age he should be able to wash / iron / run a dish washer etc etc. I hate to say this so bluntly, but you're really not doing his future partner any favours by not making him pull his weight now

It’s not Joe, it’s Tom…Joe’s no problem at all.

Thing is though Ria, he’ll happily put the dishwasher on for one plate and one cup, and put a single shirt in the washing machine which doesn’t help when a) I’m trying to keep costs down when it comes to bills and b) it doesn’t help the environment. And someone has to pick the mugs etc up or we’d run out. Plus if he did his own washing it’d just either be left on the airer, on the radiators or the washing line until he could be bothered to move it and then I’d have nowhere to dry the stuff I’ve washed unless I move his. Same with ironing, it’d just be left in the way in the utility room.

I know because I’ve tried all of these things, this is the voice of experience. I thought there’d be a short period where he’d need to settle back in after coming home from university but it’s been three and a half years now.

He and Shannon are supposed to be moving in together, that was the plan for when she got a permanent job which she now does have, and they’ve got their deposit but they’ve not decided where they want to live (well, Shannon wants to live in Leek but they ideally want a new build and there’s nothing for sale there in their price range apart from older houses which need a lot of work and nothing new being built at all). They need somewhere between where Tom works near Burton and where she works near Manchester Airport.

Aw Jo! I know how tough it is :? Becky is good at getting her own washing done, or her own meals if necessary, or loading the dishwasher! She also pays housekeeping. The bone of contention lately is the main bathroom. Mick and I don't use it, so it's her responsibility to clean it, but hardly ever does and it drives me bananas! If I crack and do it, she moans about her privacy and me moving her stuff.

Good afternoon everybody.
We had a light fall of snow yesterday. Had to defrost the car this morning before i went to the vaccination clinic. I am one of the volunteers.
Was put on the door where people come in. Glad I had two jumpers and a thick anorack on as well as a cap. I had to make sure everyone was
wearing a mask and was given a shopt of hand gel before theywere alloed to goto the reception desk.
Have ordered two new sets of fleecy pyjamas. The existing ones are past their best and one has a small tear in one of the legs.

Just relaxing now before I have my tea.
