The things you see!

Postby JoM » 05 Nov 2021, 21:49

We have a Ring doorbell and it picked this little duo up as they walked past at 5.32am on Sunday morning. The camera at the back of the house picked them up as they walked around the end of the close too.
They belong to the family on the corner, not a very friendly family who will walk past you without saying hello. We all refer to them as Mr and Mrs Dooropen, because the front door is often wide open, whatever the weather, either that or the garage door.

It seems that one door or another must’ve been open during the night seeing as the dogs took themselves out for a walk. It’s not the first time they’ve gone out on their own. Neighbours have rounded them up before and taken them back and not been thanked for their trouble.

I wouldn't bother.

I hope the dogs are friendly ......

Is it an offence to have them outside off the leash where you are? I don't know what the law is in that respect .....

They are friendly, much more so than their owners.

I think the law is that they have to be under control in public but obviously if they’re getting out and wandering then there’s no one to keep them under control.

Hmm... my (battery) wildlife cam picks up 'hogs, next door's cats, a few badgers and the family of foxes from the copse. It's not so good with burglars as they tend to use the side windows and not the front door.

Doorbell cams: a waste of space and electricity IMO, but that's me.

Crikey Jo - I'd be beside myself if that were my dogs. Wonder if the family know they're letting themselves out? I know you won't get a thank you for your troubles, but maybe pop a note through their door?

They look like well looked after dogs; so obviously are cared for

They know they get out Ria, because various neighbours have taken them back when they’ve got out in the day time. Might try the note if/when there’s a next time!
