Bonfire Night.

It has been a very quiet year for the rogues who usually let fireworks off weeks in advance and at all times of the day and night. There were a few last night but I put that down to Diwali.

Mainly it has been quiet and as tonight is the start of a weekend hopefully it will be all over and done with come Sunday.

I used to love it, but since getting our Fraggle I dread it, as he gets so upset. He's on Xanax and Rescue Remedy but is still hyper-vigilant xx

It's not too bad so far tonight, but it's early yet. Last night was the big display at the school on the back of us, and he was beside himself

Kaz, last night was the start of Diwali so we could get a double whammy, but so far it is reasonable.

Tabatha, one cat, hated this time, but Trudi, the other cat, and the dogs loved it. They are all so different. xx

Well, 5th November, and absolutely nothing at all here. There's usually been several "back garden" displays in past years; perhaps they'll happen tomorrow.

I think many supermarkets / stores have stopped selling fireworks this year - is that your experience? And there are far fewer public displays - the nearest one to here is up at a primary school in Shaftesbury.
Also I think where fireworks have been sold, there's been a move to "noiseless" ones.

Kaz, I believe I read somewhere that a radio station was playing an evening of calming classical music especially designed to help anxious dogs?

It seems to have quietened down here a bit now. Bill’s been in a state though, he’s dosed up and has had Classic FM playing but nothing has worked, which is no surprise because they’ve been so loud.

There haven’t been so many on previous nights this year though, usually it’s nightly for two or three weeks beforehand.
