Good morning.

Continued heat and sunshine. 8-)

I'm off for a walk shortly.

A swim mid morning then a day of reading and chilling. :D

Have a great day.

Morning Ally and all :D

It’s grey here at the moment. We’re off out with Billy in a minute and then John and Tom are off to Wales to see mother in law, so with Joe being in Cornwall I’m home alone (not quite, Bill’s here of course) until tomorrow night. I’ve got some crochet to do and I want to start a jigsaw. I’ve also got the season 2 episodes so far of The Morning show to watch, I’ve binged on the first season this week. Loved it!

Have a good day all :D

Morning Ally, Jo and everyone

Bit cloudy this morning, but the sun is out and it's warm.

Sadly, the internet is extremely slow :cute: Taken me 10 minutes to get this open :cute:

Washing machine on and I'll get the cleaning done this morning. Dinner already cooked, so just need to peel the spuds 8-)

Grumpy will be spreading and digging in the compost onto the veg plot this morning. We'll be heading to Castro Verde market next month, for veg plugs, so need to get the garden ready.

Off down the bar this afternoon, with friends Chris and Lucy got back earlier than they thought yesterday and just had to stop at the bar and say hello. Poor Chris was shattered. Two days of with eight hours driving then the final day of ten hours shock: But they wanted to get back home ;)

Hopefully won't be too late home ;)

Safe journey to Osc x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning all.
Grey and none too warm here.
I need a top up for the phone and that's about it.
It was our son's birthday yesterday and we're having a family Sunday dinner tomorrow.

On Wednesday night our son was getting out of his car in Wakefield, on the way to teach a student the guitar. He heard a tremendous row down the street between two men. They came towards him, and one man broke away from the other. My son said are you OK mate? At which the guy says, "No, he's stabbed me" and holds up his arms, both of which are running with blood. The other man looked for a moment as though he was going to go for my son (and was carrying a blade in one of his hands) but instead legged it when son got his phone out to ring the police. The police got there pretty quickly, searched the area and recovered a bloodied carving knife and screwdriver.
They were two skinny white guys, five eight at most and it was drugs related; the attacker saying that the other man owed him money for drugs before he set about slashing him with a knife.
I sometimes don't recognise the world we live in now. Growing up I'd say that fist fights between lads (and men) were more common, but knives? Never.
Anyhow all's well that ends well but it's a reminder that there's an ugly underbelly to life that we rarely see, but is certainly there.
Have a happy and a safe day everyone.

That’s a frightening story Crommers, thank goodness your son wasn’t hurt

There was a local news item recently about a fight in Birmingham city centre (just around the corner from M&S) involving two gangs with machetes and knives - on an afternoon!

Good afternoon everybody.
It is cloudy and colder but no rain. Did not come on here yesterday as I was helping at a vaccination clinic. Did not finish till 1.00 p.m.
So by the time I had lunch and had a doze, It was time for dinner. Then just sat watching TV

Today have been to the bank and done some shopping. Have also spent an hour in the front garden. How the weeds shoot up.
Now just pootling.

JoM, I am going to Birmingham in November. Do you think I should wear body armour?
No where sems safe even in daylight.
Have a good day everybody.
