Good Morning Sunday

Postby JanB » 03 Oct 2021, 07:20

Morning everyone

Wet :Hi: :Hi: We have the promised rain, although not quite s torrential as forecast, but it will save putting water in the pool and watering the plants  Not that warm, either.

So a day for staying inside, a day off for Grumpy. I have to sort out some books for some-one, so she can have about 20. We'll meet up in Pingo car park.

Curry for dinner, good job I decided the bbq and curry should be swapped around

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan, and everyone :)

Glad you have the rain you need Jan, and that we don't have the rain we don't   xx

We're out for Brekkie soon, not sure if B will join us, as she's not up yet. She had a bad tummy yesterday, although Mick and I are fine :?: I think it might have been something she ate, out and about, rather than a bug. We bought a new dishwasher yesterday, ours has finally totally packed up, Mick has got it going again a few times but not this time. No point calling out an engineer, as if he can't fix it it's unlikely the engineer could :cute: We've bought a Bosch, and would certainly never buy Kenwood again  xx

This afternoon I'll be swapping over my summer and winter clothes and shoes. Looking forward to being able to use the new storage in the base of our new bed :D

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning everyone.

It is clear and crisp here with temps in single figures, 8 °C - no rain, Jan.

I had the electrical engineer here yesterday so had no power for about five hours till late afternoon. All is fine now.

Thinking about a drive out and a wander round the local reservoir or maybe Roundhay park - fuel not a problem as all the garages are open and no queues.

Have a good one whatever you are doing.

Good morning all. A fine start to the day but chilly.
Off for a stagger in a mo. Chicken for dinner and a snooze in the afternoon.
I'm glad you're getting the rain Jan, we've had a bit too much the last week or so.
Kaz, we always try to buy Bosch, it's a brand that has always been reliable for us.
Son played a gig last night in Barnsley, it was a Michael Bouble tribute act! He got paid and it went down well, so happy days.
Watching the motor bike racing this evening.
Have a good one everybody.

Hello all

Busy morning today trying to finish off bits and bobs that need finishing off before I head off tomorrow. Main one was the automatic door to the chicken area - was going to finish if off yesterday so I could make sure it was working just fine, but the weather certainly put pay to that idea - so I installed it first thing this morning. Now fingers crossed it closes as it should tonight and opens again in the morning; if not I'm a tad scuppered ;-) and will just have to leave the gate open which isn't ideal but hey ho. Nadine and I are both checked in for our flight, all docs are printed and my case is packed. Popped up to Sainsbury's this morning to pick up some snacks for the flight - enough for both there and back and it'll be too much so we have some for whilst there as well. Not going to pay silly money for a pack of Pringles on the plane or at the airport if I can bring my own pack of mini-cheddars ;-) . We will be treating ourselves to breakfast at the airport though

About to head off to LHR to pick up a friend; she's been away in Greece for 2 weeks and because she lives quite a distance from the airport and I don't, she usually drives up to mine, leaves here car here and I then drop her off and pick her up and then back home to sort out the house to make sure all is in order for the cat sitter.

Have a lovely rest of day everyone and enjoy all the bits and bobs you're up to or just chilling whichever the case may be x

PS: another vote for Bosch dishwashers here; have always had them and wouldn't change. Hope Becks is feeling a bit better

Afternoon all :D

After all the rain yesterday it was nice to wake up to a nice bright day.

Well I don't need to tell you we would never buy an AEG dishwasher again. I posted on their Fb page and was asked to send a pm with full details. Their reply advised me to escalate to management of the service centre dealing with the repair. My message was obviously not read properly as I had given them a full timeline which said I had already done that only to be told by the service centre they don't have engineers with enough knowledge of AEG appliances to fix it. I posted a letter of complaint to their Managing Director on Thursday asking for a full refund of the fixed repair cost, but tbh I'm not holding my breath. John Lewis are due to deliver and install a Bosch this coming Thursday.

No plans for today, back to roast chicken with veggies for dinner, think the salad spinner can be put away until next summer. Raspberry blancmange and jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xx
