Good morning all

A dull grey start to the day and meant to rain for most of it.
I'm off to the dentist shortly - of of my crowns broke off yesterday evening and I think the bit that attaches it to the tooth broke off in the process so not holding out much hope for an easy fix. But I haven't been to a dentist in far too long (really not my favourite people) and I've been meaning to register with a local one for ages so this has now forced me to go ahead. And also yesterday - the lock on my front door started playing up and will need to be replaced. Typical - just before I'm about to go away so all a mad rush now, but rather now than when I'm away and my cat sitter can't get in.

the rest of the day will be the usual / usual mix

Sunny morning and we had a lovely sunrise this morning Well, we do most mornings, just that I was awake to see this one

Good luck at the dentist Ria xx Hope the door lock is an easy and cheap fix.

Grumpy will be sorting out the bottom drive - at last - and then he's going to play in the ruin To begin with, he's just going to scrape all the rubbish on the floor, to see what's underneath it. I've taken a pork pie out of the freezer, as a reward for his hard work He can have a beer with it at lunch time

I've got ironing to do and also the prep for dinner. I'll make a curry for Saturday too. Having checked the weather forecast, I might just swap the curry and bbq around. Looks rather cold for Sunday, so it might be curry for dinner, rather than a bbq.

Morning all, it’s a fairly miserable day here. Our supermarket shop has just been delivered, I’ve ordered stuff online from Holland and Barrett, and I have lots to do so better get moving. Michael and Kellie will be here later. I added Miss Osc to the car insurance yesterday from now till the end of the year, and was more than pleasantly surprised that it cost less than €30. SIL has to go to Belfast for work once or twice a week at the moment, and they got rid of his car when they bought the house to cut back on expenses. Our car sits there unused for a lot of the time, so she might as well have use of it.

Morning all, it’s a proper Autumn here today. Showery, chilly and very breezy.

I’m waiting to see if it brightens up any before walking Bill, he wouldn’t be happy to be caught in a shower

Joe got out of college just before 5 yesterday. I got off the bus, ran into Aldi for some snacks for us to eat on the way and by the time I walked out he was waiting on the car park. We drove off at 5pm on the dot and we were off the motorway and driving through Altrincham by 5.50pm Wish the M6 was always like that! Coming back wasn’t so easy. We saw signs on the way saying that the slip roads at junction 19 were going to be closed overnight for the next few weeks. I checked the HighwaysNW Twitter and it said the closure was between 8pm and 6am (someone asked on Twitter if this would still happen due to extra football traffic and was told that it was still going ahead) so with that in mind we drove up to junction 21 (20 is a right faff to get on at) and headed south from there. Came to 19 and cars were using the slip roads. Checked online again and on the actual website it said that it’d be open due to extra traffic expected
Still, we left Old Trafford at 10 and we were home by 11.45.

Ria, I hope you can get the crown fixed easily xx

Jan, curry sounds a good idea. I’m thinking casserole for tonight here

Good morning everyone.
We have had a downpour overnight and i looks like there is more to come. It's breezy here too.
Steve is here putting the first topcoat on the kitchen units. He is a really good painter. A lot of the tradesmen we use are (like ourselves) the wrong side of sixty now. Hopefully they can recommend replacement when they decide to retire!
Ria, what a nuisance; fingers crossed for a quick resolution. Thankyou Jan (we had curry last night btw).
Jo, that was a good (if somewhat fortunate ) win for your lot last night.
Osc, we are going to have to get into online deliveries.
Out for a totter soon as long as it doesn't chuck it down again.

Good morning everybody-just.

It is raining again. Went to the surgery to try and esolve thge issue as I cannot log on to order repat prescriptions. Girls at reception said
she could not do anything. So asked to see the manager. After a few minutes a lady came out and I explained what the problem was. I also
showed her the emails I had been sent by the surgery. She had not seen the information on the emails. Said she would re-register me and
make sure I could log on to re-order a prescription. I cried a couple of times when I was talking to her as I was upset. I apologised for
shouting at the staff because was frustated.
So hopefully things will be sorted in the next few days.
Have also been to town shopping. Now going to have lunch, then relax before doing some housework.
Meriad, I lost afilling earlier this year. Have had anew one fitted. I go every six months for a check up. Go privately. Pay about £12.00 per month
for the tratment I have. Worth it as we have been seeing the same dentist for several years.
I have got to do some painting now a new piece has been put in the front wooden windowsill outside. May have to buy a tin of Sickens.

Glad you got there and back ok, Jo We had sausage casserole the other night, it's definitely casserole and soup weather. I have loads of squishy tomatoes from D's greenhouse, I'm going to make tomato and basil soup this afternoon xx

Bet the kitchen will look like new when he's finished, Crommers. It's amazing what a difference "new" cupboard fronts make xx

Oh Cruiser, that's very upsetting for you. Let's hope that's an end to the confusion - why do these things have to be so difficult now? ((((x))))

It's a very windy day here, with rain blowing about. I've been to Sainsbury's with D, made us some lunch, and am about to start chopping up tomatoes, red onions and basil to cook down for soup Pilates tonight.

Afternoon all its dry now but have had loads of rain felt ok today so made a fish pie for tea

Cruiser don't beat yourself up about prescription just take a repeat request into the surgery
Every thing is far technical
Should have seen me battling with the BBC
as I insisted on a paper bill payment for it in the end

thanks all - dentist thankfully managed to reattach the crown so costs were kept down which is a huge relief!

Cruiser, hope you get the prescription system sorted - you've had a lot to deal recently and all on your own which isn't easy at the best of times; and sometimes things just become that bit too much. As for the dentist, it was private - we have a dental plan through work which absorbs some of the cost thankfully. Don't think any of the NHS dentists would have been able to see me this anytime soon, probably next year at the earliest
