It's pot-luck with doctors.

My surgery has been open throughout, though a phone triage is often needed before a personal appointment is made. Masks must be worn, social distance seating is in place and you must sanitise before and after using the booking-in screen.

As for flu and C boosters.... the latest on the website (17th Sept) is that there is no news. We will be informed of the process once delivery dates are known.

Both the surgery where I work and where I’m registered have been open throughout and where I work have always triaged first

I had a text message from my surgery asking to call so I could make my appointment. Called yesterday and was asked to please call back mid / end October as they're allocating the flu jabs to the more vulnerable first etc. Not a problem for me at all, but then why send out the message?

ho hum....

I'll probably end up getting my Covid booster before the flu jab anyway

The surgery have just put out a social media message:

Flu jabs - at the surgery from mid-October, depending on supplies.
Covid boosters - at The Exchange in Sturminster Newton (as before) - no idea when.

In both cases, don't call us, we'll call you.
To be given strictly in age / health order, as per Government guidelines.

Probably a CC "broadcast". Write one email, send it to everyone, then sort out the tsunami of those who should never have received it rather than spending a bit of time identifying those in need and being selective.

As I said last week on here, our surgery sent a text out asking people to call to book and it turned out that they’d sent it in error. They’re not even taking bookings yet for the more vulnerable under 65s. Me, Tom and Joe have always been eligible for the free jab so rather than wait for the GPs to start booking we’re going to Sainsbury’s pharmacy.

It was the same last year, the surgery (and it was a widespread problem so not just our surgery) was saying that there was a delay in the distribution of vaccine for under 65s but it seemed that pharmacies weren’t having any problems with getting it early on.
