Houses for sale

For our homes and gardens

That's a lovely house Shell! I expect people will pay over the odds for the school catchment then. I know the people who bought our old house wanted to be within the catchment area of the junior school that Tom and Joe went to because there's a certain snob value attached to the school because of the area it's in (we were a mile away, right on the edge of the catchment :P ) and IMO, it's not a very good school any more.

The house I posted is a funny one. I think why I've been curious about it is because on the whole estate they've been the house style that's 'stuck'. Apart from the houses the builders are currently constructing which are all starter homes, the only one which is still for sale is one of those and there's another two doors down from us which only sold and had the buyers move into at Easter, it's been available in all of the 2+ years that we've been here. So there does seem to be something that puts people off about them. BTW would you believe that two teenage boys and a 10 year old boy live in that house? They're wanting to move because the 10 year old won't settle at school - in the time we've been here he's been to three schools so I think that maybe says more about him than the schools :?

Weka, I'd love to see it!

Sent.

Thanks Kaz, I couldn't work out how to work out if it was or not. Off to bed now for me, the toothpicks aren't working any more and I'm sure I've gone cross eyed.

If you log out using the little blue link next to your name, top right hand of screen, then go to the index page you will see the boards exactly as a guest would - and the private boards are invisible ;)

Next door is up for sale again, the house joined onto us. You can see the front and back of our's in the pics, shame it wasn't while I was out at the gym because one of the blinds would've been up in the bay window and Billy would've been standing there looking out :P
I think it's the cats that have got to him. He's waging a one man war against the cats in the neighbourhood because one scratched the soil around in his front garden, and you can see how much front garden we have lol, when they were on holiday last Summer and he's now trying every cat scaring device known to man to keep them away.

I do like your houses Jo :D
Can I be extra-nosey, why is that one so much less than the one it says sold last year, no7 was it?

Reminds me, our late neighbour's house has gone on the market, it wasn't on the website when Bb looked this morning but I'll find it when I can ;)

Just the one unfortunately Kaz, though Joe has claimed the family bathroom   Yeah, ours is the same house. I can't see them getting that much for it, they certainly didn't pay that much. We paid £195,500 because we have a single garage and I think they paid £205,000 if I remember correctly (being nosey on Zoopla ages ago). House prices certainly haven't risen that much around here, and you lose a fair bit on new houses too don't you. They are big houses for the money though, they're quite deceptive because when you stand outside and look face on they don't look like they'll be that big.

It's a shame because our friends wanted to buy next door and looked into buying it by part exchange when we were buying ours but they weren't offered enough for their house but have regretted not going through with it ever since. When it went up for sale in 2012, our friends decided to go for it and rent their house out but they couldn't even get a viewing because next door changed their minds within days of it going up for sale and it went off the market. Now it's up for sale again and C's job is a bit precarious and they can't risk moving at the moment :(

Di, number 7 is a large detached house, the largest design of house on the estate, and was also one of the two showhouses so came with all of the extras.
You can see it in this picture (that's not today btw  ), it's the house that's at a right angle to the road. To be honest though, I prefer the other one, the one that's closer to the camera.

Oh that explains it then Jo - and yes I prefer the other one too, from looks alone anyway :D
